Hi... I can not open Firefox even re installing it
I tried to compile a CD with HTML- and PDF-documents. "portable firefox" should display the HTML-documents. "portable sumatra" should display the PDF-documents. "portable firefox" should start with a local stored page on inserting the CD into the drive. The HTML-pages have links that call the PDF-files.
I installed "portable firefox" as explained at the "portableapps.com" site.
Hello. I installed firefox 3 beta (last version) on my PQI Cool Drive U339 Pro 2GB, that i bought 2 years ago, and man - firefox is lagging badly. Version 2.00.14 lagged a bit, but this one is something else.
Anyone knows if there's a way of speeding up firefox 3 beta, instead of buying Corsair Voyager GT?
Hi everyone,
I just wonder where does FireFox-Portable save user's settings, bookmarks and favorites so I can trasnfer (any) of them to another portable one, or keep them when replacing the current version with a newer one!
Thanks,
I dl and installed and tried out both Mime edit extensions from the add-ons section so that I could add instruction re txt docts. Believe it or not, I need Firefox let an external application handle text files because of the nature of info I have in them that the text editor I use handles better. Besides which word wrap is dealt with in an editor whereas FF just uses long sentences. For these 2 reasons I made the change but though the TXT extension now shows up under FF's file types, Firefox continues to open any txt documents despite that.
Before delving into the issue itself I found rather ironic and sad fact that I could not login into this forum from my PFF and had to use IE just for this.
Now to the meat of it: For the past few days I realized (hard way) that my bookmarks are not being saved. I'd make all the changes, they all show up while either looking at bookmarks directly, or using bookmarks manager. Everything is fine until I close the application (v.1.5.0.7). Once I go back the changes are mostly gone, some, earlier are there, but most are gone - can't figure the pattern.
I recently started using Portable Firefox 2 because I was having problems with a corrupted version of Firefox 1.5 and was loathe to switch to an installed version of FF 2 because of past problems with losing functionality of beloved extensions. I found a wonderful article at Lifehacker that shows how to not only migrate all your extensions and settings to Portable Firefox, but how you can also force it to use obsolete extensions:

As you know, some people put their portable apps on their PC. I did a few weeks back, 'cuz my drive was fritzing. I tried to use it, and it worked reasonably. Though it kept looking for C:\Documents\School. Then when I got access to my backup drive, it ended up looking for F:\Documents and Settings\all\Desktop.
I think the FFP launcher should be able to check if the drive is C and then not change the paths.
Is there any way of keeping the loader alive while Firefox is running? I read elsewhere that it will do so if Firefox isn't installed on the machine, but that's hardly an option on machines I don't own...
Firefox Portable will not connect to the internet if "Microsoft OneCare Live" is installed. As a matter of fact any application (I have only tested Thunderbird) will not connect to the internet. I have even tried to add the file manually to the firewall.
FYI I am using this setup on Vista.
If I turn off the firewall everything works fine. But I can't do that now can I
