Update in Suite?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on December 14, 2005 - 6:33am

When will Firefox be updated in the Portable Apss Suite? Or is it possible to do it by myself? I like the suite but it seems it isn't updated as much as the portable programs (I can understand why)..

Corrupted profile

Hi,

I've made a mistake last night. While starting PFF from the USB drive, I accidentally clicked on Cancel in a windows titled "Copying...". Now all my extensions are disabled, the menus reverted to default settings, the toolbars are gone. The only things that remained untouched are my homepage and my bookmarks. I can see all the extensions in the Tools -> Extensions, but none is active. I'm using version 1.0.7 because some of the extensions aren't updated for the last version of Firefox.

Is there a way to fix this or do I have to start from scratch? Please help...

Problem with suite.

I downloaded the suite onto my computer hard drive and unzipped it, i then put my old Portable FireFox 1.0 Profile into the place for the firefox profile using the suite setup, everything works fine when it is on my hard drive, but i copied the files over to my usb drive and it only loads my shortcuts neither my extensions or my theme load. What should i do?

Cannot start it!

I always get "Another instance of Firefox is already running. Please close other instances of Firefox before launching Portable Firefox.". Title of the error is "Portable Firefox - your browser ...". I think it's about the launcher.

mass production and password manager

Hi,

I'd like to give quite a big number of USB keys to peoples, and i'd like to put in these keys a portable firefox with a password registered for a web-site.

Like this, no need for the people to remember teir password, or to register it themself, it's already done. They just have to use the key and enjoy.

My problème is : I can't register all the passwords manualy. There's a lot of keys to create, and it will be done automaticly. So i'd like to find a way to register the password with a small script.

Setup Problems

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on December 13, 2005 - 9:11am

I have apparently made a mistake in setting up Portable Firefox. When I click portablefirefox.exe, I get the splash screen then nothing. I have the following directory setup:

-\PortableApps
+\PortableFirefox
+\firefox
+\profile
+\plugins
+\appdata
+\userprofile

What files should be in each folder for Portable Firefox to work?

Thanks in advance!

My 2¢ on how to get pFF the way you like it.

If you like me you and you have a ton of extensions installed starting up FF for the first time is a pain in the but. I'm currently running 40 extensions on my local and portable copies. Im sure some of the following might be common sense or has been said before, im just to damn lazy to search. SO ... here is my 2¢ on how I get my pFF up and running.

:::Extensions:::

For starters to get a easy to use list of all your local installed extensions I suggest using MR Tech's Local Install. MR Tech's Local Install will give you a list of all you extensions, Plugins and Themes that you can view in HTML and there will be links to all your extensions. There are several features of MR Tech's Local Install that are just awesome.

Cannot install extentions

Subj
When i try to install them, they are downloaded and installed as always. It is written, that they would be installed after i restart Firefox. Try to guess, what happens when i restart Firefox. Nothing. "*** will be installed after you restart Firefox". If i try to install the extention again - "*** will be upgraded after you restart Firefox".
what should i do? tnx
