Moving from Vista machine to Xp machine

Submitted by kashga on October 12, 2009 - 1:17am

I've been running FF on a Vista machine, and then I went to an XP machine, and created bookmarks. When I moved back to the Vista machine, none of those bookmarks appear. Is it something to do with reading and writing sqlite files under the different operating systems ?

Similar things happened in my Thunderbird.

Reset Default

Submitted by opo on October 10, 2009 - 4:14am

I use Firefox Portable from day one, and during this time I made some mods that I totally forgot how and where. Now I have some problems with tabs size, and font display. I unpacked latest release 3.5.3 several times, and move Data folder inside, but problems still present.
I don't want to lose my passwords, and history, How should i do Reset Default Settings, or What should I move to a new Portable Firefox so that i have my pass, history, bookmarks and add-ons?

No longer loading? Impact from Norton NIS 2010

Submitted by jale on October 7, 2009 - 2:18pm

If your Firefox Portable no longer loads, it may be because you have installed/upgraded Norton NIS to 2010. This installs (whether you want it or not, even in Firefox Portable) 2 Norton extensions (Norton IPS 2.0 and Norton Toolbar 4.0) that are incompatible with several other extensions (such as IE View) and prevent Firefox 3.5.x from even starting. As a solution, you can disable these Norton extensions by first starting Firefox in safe-mode.

Passwords are not remembered

Submitted by smb on October 6, 2009 - 3:27pm

I have installed release 3.5.3 on a thumb drive. I have set a master password as well as checked "Remember site password". Neither of these functions are working. I can start Firefox Portable with no log in and site passwords are not remembered.

Any suggestions for fixing?

Thanks for your help.

Hello all.

I am rebuilding my website in a local server environment (Server2Go), and each time I shut the local server down I lose FFportable bookmarks.

I am wondering if anyone has worked with Server2Go (or something similar) and figured out a way to conserve bookmarks from session to session.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Roscopico

Firefox 3.0.x tabs lost

Submitted by trust on September 29, 2009 - 8:32pm

I set my FirefoxPortable to save and restore my tabs at the next time opening it... and it usually works, 99 times out of 100. But in 1 time out of the 100 when I reopen FirefoxPortable, all I have is a blank screen. And I am not happy about the situation that I can't trust it. Do you have the same issue too?

Version FirefoxPortable 3.0.x, and it used to be the same, since forever. Do you know -if you have this issue with Portable Firefox-, does regular Firefox also have it, or only the Portable version?

How do I stop Portable Firefox from publishin on C:\ over 500 KB of private purchase data?

I believe any one using Portable Firefox on a Flash Drive is in danger of leaving private confidential data behind on the system drive after they have closed Firefox and safely removed the Flash.

This is a link on which ??? conceals personal identification of my specific family photo album.

Photobox shows me the first page of snapshots in a photo album with 700+ snapshots when I use this link.

I launch Windows Explorer and aim at

Flash and Shockwave - has anything changed?

Submitted by quingo on September 24, 2009 - 8:54am

Hullo!

I am using PortableApps on a corporate build PC on which I ahve no admin account.
The last time I installed Flash and Shockwave in my FirefoxPortable install was about a year ago - I am not that bothered about being cutting edge, so there was no need to upgrade until now. But I seem to be unable to achieve much...

I followed the recommendations from this site:
