FF portable crashes when I scroll to a certain part of page

Submitted by birdbleed on September 5, 2009 - 1:59am

Like the title says, whenever I load a particular message board and scroll to the bottom where the drop down box is (jump to: different parts of the forum, etc.), FFP crashes and it gives a memory "read" error. Everything is fine until it gets to the bottom of the page, I can browse the site all day but as soon as I scroll down to a certain point... Game over.

Firefox crashes after Update

Submitted by rucksman007 on September 4, 2009 - 11:16am

Updated Firefox to the latest version, and since then it crashes every time I do:
Tools - Options - Advanced (I hope these are the correct english menu items as I use the german version). All the older versions of Firefox where OK.

Going back to 3.5.1 solves the problem (but is probably not a good idea....)

Can someone help?

Add-Ons caused re-install

Submitted by jamvaru on September 3, 2009 - 12:46pm

I added too many add-ons at one time and had to disable them all.

In doing so the menu and toolbar were removed.

I was left with the harley-davidson theme and one tab.

I could add a tab, book mark a tab, that's about it.

so, i tried re-installing. no change

i uninstalled, lost all my plugins, oh well... this time i'll be more conservative with my plug-ins

apparently multiple menu and toolbar plugins did me in

Using the OpenOffice.org Portable plugin

I have Portable Firefox and Portable OpenOffice.org, and I'd really like to have OOo files opened in my portable Firefox. However, I can't use the "Activate Mozilla plugin" checkbox in OOo because I also have a local version of Firefox... Pardon
Also, I take FF & OOo to different computers, so they have different drive letters on a regular basis... is there a way to get around those problems?

Whats the huge files in the cache of FF portable?

Submitted by netchicken on August 31, 2009 - 7:48pm

I have just stripped out a version of FF to pass on to someone else and found in the cache there were some humongous files, up to 15meg in size, and heaps of randomly assigned file names.

What are they?

Why when you clear all the options such as history, pws, etc they still stick around?

RSS feed from PortableApps.com doesn't reload automatically in PA Firefox 3.52

Submitted by Megafrog on August 28, 2009 - 1:29pm

I posted this in the Portable Apps general forum since I thought it might have something to do with the whole web site, but there was no response. Perhaps its just best if I put it in the Firefox Portable forum:

I like to keep my RSS feeds as pulldown lists on my Firefox bookmark toolbar just to keep track of sites casually. It's not an emergency if I miss anything so that's fine, but for some reason the PortableApps.com RSS feed does not update automatically. It only updates when I tell it to with a right-click Reload Live Bookmark.

MozRegKey - ShockWave edit

Submitted by sidepartings26 on August 27, 2009 - 7:57pm

I am unable to reply to previous MozRegKey threads so I'm going to post the question here:

I am trying to install shockwave as an add on to firefox portable.

Copying the .dll file from either an existing firefox plugins folder or the system 32\adobe folder does not work like it does with flash because the 'Swdnld.exe' file is missing and is not part of the install file (checked temporary files) and unsourcable online (it should be system32\adobe\director)

When the shockwave install exe file is clicked it always installs to the C drive - there is no possibility of interrupting it.
