FirefoxPortableESR52.2.0 can't redirect message of console (window.dump) to a file

Submitted by fethi on October 13, 2017 - 9:16am

In the case of the launch of the portable Firefox (ESR 52.2.0) in command line mode,
it is impossible to redirect the native output of the browser console (Firefox.exe) from the launcher (FirefoxPortable.exe) by typing the following command line:
C:> E: /FirefoxPortableESR52.2.0/FirefoxPortable.exe 2&1> dump.txt

Which Firefox icon to sync with Sandboxie

Submitted by CT71 on September 23, 2017 - 11:14pm

I apologize if Portable Apps is not the right forum to ask this question, I'm sorta new at all this. I asked this in the official Firefox help forum but they said they're not affiliated with the portable version. I also asked this in the Sandboxie forum about a year ago and I was given an answer, but I'm just not sure it was the right one, because my profile eventually started to get all out of whack. I wish I could tell you what was happening, but it was a year ago and truthfully I don't remember.

[Closed] Firefox start always in 32-bit on 64-bit system

Submitted by testerr on September 19, 2017 - 2:21am

I have problem with launching 64-bit version of 55.0.3 on Win 10 x64.
When I launch fresh install of Firefox Portable then in Process Explorer there is 32-bit "Firefox Portable" launcher process and 64-bit "Firefox" processes.
But when I move my profile in to this installation then launcher always runs 32-bit version.
Why?
How to run 64-bit Firefox with existing profile?

(AlwaysUse32Bit is set to false)

Packages just with 32 and 64 bit files

Submitted by c-sanchez on September 8, 2017 - 8:50pm

Hi guys, thanks by make PortableApps, is really great.

Why was created an package with both 32 and 64 bit files instead two packages for 32 and 64 bit respectively?, I know is simpler to share, but I don't need 64bit files, just 32bit. If I delete 64bit folder, although all works, I have an alert first.

I need Firefox 52.3.0 ESR with just 32bit files, without alerts please haha.

Regards!

Desktop Shortcut includes path to portable drive Firefox profile

Submitted by Zachariah on August 30, 2017 - 9:28pm

If you open a Desktop Shortcut created by Firefox Portable in a text editor, it reveals the path to the PortableApps Firefox installation it was created with. That might be fine if you were dragging to your flash drive to make the link, but they're often created by dragging to the desktop. You don't really want a file with that path in it there.

Suggested solution:
The line "IconFile=" should have nothing after the equals sign instead of any path.

SOLVED: Problems opening tabs after upgrade from 54.0 to 55.0.2 or 55.0.3 italian version.

Submitted by luitos on August 30, 2017 - 9:47am

With version 54.0 I worked quietly with two windows, for a total of 59 tabs open.
With that version, I closed and restarted Firefox portable edition with all the tabs listed, without any problems.
But after upgrading to either italian v.55.0.2 or v.55.0.3, some cards disappear or rather reopen but no longer load contents because they have lost the URL and remain open as new tabs.
To be able to work with all 59 open tabs again, I had to make a version downgrade and restore the file sessionstore.js.
What's the problem ?
