Thunderbird Portable

I'm new to Portable Apps. This is my first post.

I've read a lot of material on portableapps.com, but I still don't understand how a portable app works with the Windows registry.

I'm starting with Portable Thunderbird so I'll use that as an example. I installed just the portable app itself, not the full portable apps launcher, since I'm just trying this out for now.

I select View>Toolbars> Menu Bar to get the Menu Bar. However, after I restart Thunderbird Portable v102.15.1 (64 bit) it is gone. I need to re-add it each time after restarting.
How can I save the Menu Bar so that it is still there after restarting?

EDIT: I have no Add-Ons enabled, but when I start Thunderbird in Troubleshoot Mode, the Menu Bar is there.

I installed the portable version of Thunderbird and worked on it getting all my settings, add-in, and configuration customized to a point that I now like it. Is there a way to INSTALL the full version and migrate to it?

I've noticed that if any Thunderbird Portable is running, an installation of another Thunderbird Portable is impossible at the same time.
This is the default behaviour of all Thunderbird Portable installers – in opposite to the Firefox Portable installers!

after long time, I am againg trying to set up Thunderbird on a usb stick.
Installed OK, but now I would like to paste there the profile from my desktop version
where exactly should I put the profile in?

I got used to TB portable asking to "confirm security exception" at location imap.mail.de:993 or imap.web.de:993. Regular installed Windows10 TB did never ask this nor does TB 115.
When I click "Get Certificate" this hangs for ever.
My E-Mail service provider suggests imap.mail.de:993 for TB. No special hint for TB portable.
I installed same TB 115.4.1 on Windows10. This does not ask for adding security exception AND works fine.

Available on the builds site 24 Oct, but rolled out slowly, so some users won't get it until 25 Oct.

My Portable Apps edition of Thunderbird Portable continues to update through the internal updater without any issues. Thank you, John T.

Since the new version 115 was introduced, my calendar and event data have disappeared several times and had to be restored from backup.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

115.2.3 became available this afternoon. If you have automatic updates turned off, you'll have to Check for Updates and accept the update (if desired). I see no problems in it, and the release notes report some very good fixes. If you have the Portable Apps app, you'll get 115.2.3.
