Thunderbird not responding to email links

Submitted by Boris on August 10, 2020 - 2:49am

I have set Thunderbird v68.11.0 (32-bit) as default email client on my Win10Pro machine, and checked that the mailto: link is handled by Thunderbird.
However each time I click a mail link on a webpage, it opens thunderbird in "new account" mode, instead of normal mode where I already have 5 accounts listed.
Can anyone suggest where the problem might lie?

Submitted by bernislo on April 14, 2020 - 4:05am

The window of thunderbird portable wont open, it only will show this crash report window.... have windows defender and made a exception for thunderbird. Did not help. Dont know what to do else. What is strange some month ago I lost some sent mails about 2 month old, they were simply gone. Also tries safe mode start Thunderbird portable did not react.
Somehow found the crash report number , can someone get me some help? I am not a computer geek , so step by step would be very nice ... 7093303d-e8a4-49b4-abbd-b3cd2e91a59a

Thunderbird 78 will no longer to support the APIs that Enigmail requires and only allow new "WebExtensions"

Hi, I have been using Thunderbird portable 32-bit from Portableapps.com (now version 68.6.0) for many years.
In summer 2020 (64-bit) version 78 - PGP ENCRYPTION will be natively added.
Will you publish a portable 7x (64 bit) W10 version ?

Cannot associate TB to send zip files

Submitted by mozfan on February 13, 2020 - 6:42pm

Sending a zip file gives the error message that no email program is installed or no association made. Zip file was missing from the default program file list in win7. I switched to Open with TB in zip file properties. Zip file was restored in default list that showed TB as default program, but still could not send with the same error. Tried a couple of solutions offered online (don't remember now) and lost explorer as a choice in zip file properties. Sendto file does exist and is associated with TB. System restore does not complete with an error no access to a file.
