DomainKey Failure

Submitted by guidojones on May 25, 2006 - 5:29pm

Using TB 1.5.0.2 I can send an email through my server, where it has domain keys sign it. On the receiving side, the keys verify.

Using Portable TB 1.5.0.2 (with and without GPG support) the email is sent, however the DomainKeys fail verification on the receiving side.

I am still working on a way to determine what is different as a visual look at the headers doesn't reveil anything.

Ideas ??

Thanks

- Ken

Follow-Up: Upon further investigation, this is an issue with the domain keys package, and not thunderbird.

Help needed - upgrading to Enigmail/GPG edition

Submitted by walts on May 25, 2006 - 9:57am

I have Portable Thunderbird running on my USB drive, and have Enigmail and GnuPG working fine with it. Problem is, if I take it to any other computer than the one where I originally set it up the GPG stuff doesn't work.

I downloaded the new edition with Enigmail/GPG support, but the directory structure is totally different, and the help.html file does not seem to address the new structure. I need help in importing my mailboxes, address book, and keyrings.

TIA

Walt

"x new messages" appearing when loggin out

Submitted by Macheath_Messer on May 24, 2006 - 3:45pm

Hello all:

I think these portable applications are wonderful! I have tried Thunderbird and Firefox so far, and I'm having a concern with Thunderbird:

I am using this application at a place I am working at for my education. These folks are letting me use their computers, and I thought having a portable application such as Portable Thunderbird would allow me to have access to my school e-mail.

It works great, but when I eject my flash drive and logout, the message "x unread message" appears on the login page.

If there is a way to remove this, I would appreciate learning how to do it. It is embarrassing to me that it appears. I don't want my preceptor thinking I am downloading files onto his computer.

where did mail.dll go in Portable TB 1.5?

Submitted by twnty3svn on May 24, 2006 - 6:15am

Does anyone know where the mail.dll went in Portable TB 1.5? I really want to remove the annoying "-- " divider TB places above all signature.

The topic on mozillazine dating back to Aug 03 display a solution by editing the mail.dll file, however i can't seem to find it. Below is a direct quote from the topic

You can get rid of that if you edit file mail.dll. Change "-- " to " " (three blanks) on ONE place.

I've posted same question on mozillazine, but no response, andy ideas?

Portable Thunderbird Opening up Twice!

Submitted by twnty3svn on May 23, 2006 - 10:21am

Has anyone else been experincing the same thing. For some reason TB (not all the time, but more often than not) opens up twice, and i can't quite put my finger on why.

I can't even open up two instances of TB normally (ie. click it twice), so i know i havn't clicked on it twice. This seemed to happen in the TB 1.07 too, but thougth it was fixed, as it only started again recently.
I have the following extensions installed.

contacts sidebar (1.07 and 1.5, easy get mail button (1.07 and 1.5), minimise to tray (1.07 and 1.5), profile password (1.07 and 1.5), signature switch, display mail user agent extensions, reminder fox, foxclocks, tbstats, quicktext, folderflags
