Thunderbird Portable

Signature On Portable Device

Submitted by chriscolden on May 17, 2006 - 3:21pm

Hi,

I am trying to use a signature on my portable thunderbird, however when moving from computer to computer the drive letter may change and therefor the signature does not work.

As portable thunderbird does not save its own copy of the signature file, it just used the path to the file, I was woundering if any body knows of away around this. I'm guessing there is, as i'm pritty sure alot of the people who use portable thunderbird are also using a signature and I have not been able to find a post regarding the solution.

Thanks for your help.

run 2 TBs at the same time

Submitted by Dishonest John on May 16, 2006 - 4:40am

Hello all,

I checked the previous posts, but didn't find anything matching my request. If it is a repost pardon me!

I'm using standard TB app at the office to read my mail. My private mail I read with the PORTABLE TB (off course!) - and I faced the problem, that I am not able to have two instances of TB running. So every time I have to shutdown on TB to check the other. Is there a way to have 2 TBs running?

Thanks

Samuel

Removing TB Signature divider

Submitted by twnty3svn on May 16, 2006 - 2:52am

Has anyone worked out a way to remove the automatic TB signature divider
ie.

--

It inserts this into every new email, and i want to be able to automaticaly remove it. I do understand that it comes with TB, but is there an extenstion to remove it or something?

If anyone's wondering, i would like to remove it as i have custom signatures for all my accounts, and have designed my own stationary.

Thanks.

Junk mail control change?

Submitted by PollieXmas on May 13, 2006 - 4:48pm

Hi All,

I used to use FF (v1) for U3. It allowed me to mark all my messages as junk in my inbox without changing the focus form the "summary" screen.

Since I have upgraded to PTB 1.5.0.2, as soon as I mark the first message as junk, it changes the focus to what seems to be a random msg in my inbox, thus opening a junk msg.

How do I get it so it waits for me to select a msg (description) before changing the focus to the inbox?

I have also noticed that when you mark a msg as junk TB (U3) and PTB it moves the focus to the next message in the inbox i.s.o. keeping the focus on the message you were viewing, i.e. not the msg that was just marked as spam.

"Check for new messages" turns itself off

I've got an issue that's cropped up for me recently. I think it started round about the last time I upgraded PTB, but I'm not positive on that. I'm running version 1.5.0.2 (without Enigmail+GPG). I also have a dozen extensions loaded; if none of y'all are having the same problem I am, that would make it quite likely that one of them is the culprit.

I have six POP accounts set up, and for five of them I checked the "Check for new messages every __ minutes" box. The feature seems to work fine so long as I keep the same session going; but whenever I restart PTB, I find that the checkboxes have unchecked themselves.

Spaghetti sorter?

Hi All,

My migration path to TB has got me tied in such knots that I don't know how to untangle myself...

I was using McAffee spam filter at the time I setup TB. This meant that my mailboxes were setup (physical directories) as 127.0.0.1-1 or something like that.

I only migrated my personal aacounts as a trial.

Several machines later and too many rebuilds that should be necessary for anyone to have to do, I finally discovered U3, despite the fact that I had several copies of PortableApps downloaded on my machine. At the time the (PA) mountain was just too high for me to climb...
