Portable GIMP 2.2.11 Beta Released

GIMP logoPortable GIMP 2.2.11 Beta has been released in both English-only and multilingual packages. Portable GIMP is the popular the GIMP for Windows image editor packaged as a portable app, so you can take your images with you and do your editing on the go. In this version:

  • the GIMP updated to 2.2.11
  • launcher fixed to handle alternate directories and INI settings
  • switched to self-extractor packaging (25% smaller download)

In addition, an option to speed startup and an experimental fix for the intl.dll issue are available for testing.

Portable FileZilla 2.2.20 Released

Portable FileZilla is the popular FileZilla FTP client packaged as a portable app, so you can take your ftp client, server list and settings with you. This version updates the included FileZilla binaries to 2.2.20 and switches to a self-extractor download for easier installations.

Portable AbiWord 2.4.4 (w/ OpenDocument) Released

Portable AbiWord is the lightweight AbiWord word processor packaged as a portable app, so you can take your documents along with your word processor wherever you go. It is available in multilingual packages with and without OpenDocument support. New in this version:

  • AbiWord updated to 2.4.4
  • Added package with OpenDocument support (extra 2.2MB install size)
  • Switched to packages for smaller downloads (about 5MB)

Although Miranda IM is quite portable by default, this release allows users of other portable apps to easily use the same directory structures as Portable Firefox, etc.
