PortableApps.com is formally announcing the end of Windows 95/98/Me support in the PortableApps.com Format, Installer, packaged apps and the PortableApps.com Platform. It's been a long time coming and has been discussed quite a bit internally and externally, so we'd like to officially announce the end of support as well as the reasons why.
Mozilla Developer Preview, Portable Edition 3.7 Alpha 4 has been released. Mozilla Developer Preview is an early developer milestone of the popular Firefox web browser bundled with a PortableApps.com Launcher as a portable app that is being built on top of Mozilla's Gecko 1.9.3 layout engine, Mozilla Developer Preview Alpha 4 is being made available for testing purposes only, and is intended for web application developers and our testing community. (For everyday use, please use Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition.) The nightly build of Minefield 3.7 Alpha 5 Pre has also been made available. Both are packaged in PortableApps.com Format so they can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And they're open source and completely free.
Miranda IM Portable 0.8.19 has been released. Miranda IM is a multi protocol instant messenger client for Windows which uses very little memory and supports ICQ, AIM, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo, IRC and more. This new release updates Miranda IM to the latest version. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite.
