Where are the local data for Chrome extensions in Chrome Portable located?

I tried moving the data from C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Desktop\GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile\Default\Extensions to the new version of Chrome Portable that I just downloaded, but the extensions aren't showing up in the new version. What am doing wrong? I can't do without this extension data, because there is 1,400 days worth of browsing information on WebTimer, and I have tons of customization on the RES extension for reddit.

[Fixed] Stickies v8.0b help file will not start

Submitted by sweetnuttin on January 7, 2015 - 7:25pm

Hi all,
I have downloaded & 'installed' the Stickies v8.0b portable program to my hard disk drive on a Windows 7 SP1 Home Edition Laptop.

My problem is the "HELP" file will not open when using either the F1 key or clicking on the Help line in the stickies menu (next to the clock).

Nothing 'at all' happens with either option to open the Help file.

I do not use the Portable Apps menu system to start the stickies program though, it starts when my laptop boots up - from the 'Startup' folder.

How can I get the HELP file to open when I need it?

CDex 1.75 storing settings outside PA

Submitted by dsl101 on January 7, 2015 - 2:54pm

I've had CDexPortable for ages, and recently upgraded - first to 1.72, and just now to 1.75. I noticed that my freedb email address had vanished, and when I looked, so had all my other settings such as target folders, etc.

I can see my old settings in this .ini file:

C:\PortableApps\CDExPortable\App\CDex\CDEx.ini

but when I launch CDexPortable, this file is created:

C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\CDex\CDex.ini

with the default settings (e.g. target folder C:\Users\... NOT X:\Documents\Music as per the note on the CDexPortable download page). I can see this file:

What happens if I click "Yes" on the requests to update programs?

Submitted by Michael Europe on January 2, 2015 - 4:55am

For example with skype,
whan a new version of the program is released,
I receive a pop-up which asks whether I want to update to the new version.
Now I clicked "No" and downloaded the new "paf" installer from PortableApps.com and installed the PortableApps new version of skype in the same folder where I had the previous version.
But if I clicked "Yes", what would happen ?
And apart from skype, in general, what can be said about updating using the programs original update functionality ?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Upgrading Google Chrome Portable

Submitted by EeeK on December 26, 2014 - 10:12pm

Hi my portable apps are installed in D drive which is a HDD where I perform update once every few months.

I made a copy of Google Chrome Portable to C drive which is a SSD to achieve better performance.

Any idea what files should I copy under GoogleChromePortable from C to D drive before I do a update so I can synchronize the opened links and extensions?
