Hey all,

I have a problem when trying to start notepad++.
A message opens containing the following text:
"Another instance of notepad++ portable is starting ...."

Well, there is no other instance starting, reboot does not solve the problem, renaming the folder or reinstalling the portable app doesn't work, too. So I think the app must have written some file somewhere, but I cannot find it.

Can anyone give me a hint where n++ instances register when starting?

Chrome Portable version: 24.0.1312.57

Problem: Chrome Portable will not start anymore

Env: Dell Latitude i7, 8Gb, SSD running Win 7 enterprise, fully patched. Chrome located in a portableapps folder on the C: drive along with other portable apps.

I have been using portableapps.com stuff for years now and Chrome Portable almost as long. About a month ago, it simply would not load, either from the pa starter menu or by directly clicking it.

Running as admin does not help either.

In the too may years to remember I've used Sysinternal's, uh Microsoft's Process Explorer, I've exported the registry to move my nine column sets to other systems.

So, I exported HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sysinternals\Process Explorer as ProcessExplorerPortable.reg and dropped it into C:\PORTABLES\ProcessExplorerPortable\Data\settings.

It would be nice if Stellarium would preserve the (separately downloadable) extra star catalogue files located in App/Stellarium/stars/default. Their names are:
stars_4_2v1_0.cat
stars_5_2v0_0.cat
stars_6_2v0_0.cat
stars_7_2v0_0.cat

I think those files dont get updated a lot so a DirectoriesToPreserve would be enough.

I have just downloaded your dotNETInspector 1.41.

Upon running it, it gave me a window that says it found:
.NetFramework 2.0 Sp2,
.NetFramework 3.0 Sp2,
and .NetFramework 3.5 Sp1.

My problem is that none of these show up in my "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features" under Windows 7HE x64!

Aren't they supposed to be listed there??
If they ARE installed, how do I remove one or more of them that I don't need or want??

Notepad++ Portable upgrades are resetting the PluginManager.ini & SpellChecker.ini files. Removing the empty App\Notepad++\plugins\Config folder before running the new version fixes this.

Hi all,

I am running Windows 7 HE X64.
When I try to run Dtask Manager it gives the error of
"Run-time error '5':"
"Invalid procedure call or argument"

The writeup states: System Requirements: Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7

So I am at a loss for what the problem is??

If Opera's directory includes special characters like "ı,ş,ç,ö,ü,ğ", it won't work. For instance my directory is "D:/Prog/ı/Opera". When I execute OperaPortable.exe, It creates "D:/Prog/?/Opera/Data/profile" and some of my profile in it. Then a blank page is opening. I have to overcome this issue, bcause almost all of my folders include special Turkish characters.

Simple question: If I change the files in "OperaPortable/App/Opera" with 64bit native Opera's one, does it keep on working properly? All my computers are 64bit. So I want to use 64bit version.

I found Password Gorilla suits my purposes better than KeePass which I used for quite some time.

Over at the "Learn more about..." link (GitHub) I noticed they posted up "Note (Jan 2013): Github has closed this service since 2013," as well as "Version 1.5.3.7 (in work)." The latter is not dated but the current version, 1.5.3.6, is just over a year old.

Which leaves me, a mere end user, wondering...

What's the forecast for 1.5.3.7 and the chance of that making it as a PortableApp?

Or should we consider PasswordGorillaPortable_1.5.3.6.paf.exe as The Last One?
