From what Ihave read I understand that I can load a flash drive with Portable Apps which includes Fire fox email

My question is this once I have the email provider on my flash drive do I have to set up an account in the same way as I did on my computer

Once set up can I then send and receive emails from someone elses computer using the portable Apps email

can I use another computer even though that computer has no email installed

SDHC Card

Submitted by SandLake on January 30, 2009 - 1:41pm

I would like to put portableapps onto an SDHC card which I would leave permanently in my Samsung netbook. How can I get some sort of a start menu (possibly from an icoin in the system tray) to show and run the programs on the SD card?

GPL Violations in XeroBank Browser

I'm posting to let the community know that I have informed XeroBank Browser of their violation of the GPL. As many know, XeroBank grew out of TorPark and is a combination of Firefox and Tor to allow secure connections of Firefox to the Tor Onion Router Network for anonymous web browsing. TorPark is based on my own original Portable Firefox code and I worked with the original TorPark developer on the initial versions. As that developer continued to work on it and enhance it and later switched the license from the GPL to a proprietary license that forbids commercial competition.

When you say a fresh install, what do you mean?

Submitted by SilentWalker on January 28, 2009 - 12:52pm

For some apps such as PAC and RegShot, and in making a PortableApp, you say you need a fresh install of the application, or that the computer must not contain a trace of the application.

Does this mean that it must have never been installed on the computer ever, or will a simple uninstall do, or do i have to use RegEdit and search the registry for the app name and delete the entries?

Please explain...

Faster flash drive

Submitted by GlennCoco on January 28, 2009 - 10:16am

Hello,

I have an old flash drive that only has the portable versions of Firefox and Pidgin running on it, nothing else. It is incredibly slow. Are there some flash drives that are faster than others? What do I need to look for when shopping for faster drives?
