I disabled automatic updates in Skype portable and never had them enabled yet I keep getting the update notification once when starting the program and a second time after logging in.
As a side note I used to use skype 4.2 and 5.5 portable. The network refused to allow me to sign in using those. I last used the just a few months ago. Anyone know what happened there?
(If there is a better forum to post suggestions for developers, please let me know.)
Instead of adding an app to the PortableApps directory, I'd like to place it somewhere else, and have a link at the PortableApps directory pointing to that other place.
There are currently two limitations:
1. Portable applications must be located inside the PortableApps directory to be automatically added to the PortableApps start menu. (As far as I understand.)
can't download latest updates, from respective page, for:
ClamWin Portable 0.98.5 (anti-virus)
CDEx Portable 1.7.4 (CD audio extractor)
CrystalDiskInfo Portable 6.2.2 (disk health monitoring)
Battle for Wesnoth Portable 1.12.0
goes to http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/ and a popup displays with error: The " (selected file name) " file could not be found or is not available. Please select another file.
But seems to work with the PAc Updater, for :
ClamWin Portable 0.98.5 (anti-virus)
CDEx Portable 1.7.4 (CD audio extractor)
Hello!
uTorrent portable 3.4.2.36615 leaves an entry in the Add/Remove Programs. Win8.1 x64. What I did:
Installed uTorrent, launched it, ran Setup Guide, closed uTorrent, opened Control Panel.
Is there any setting that doesn't allow a portable program to write to the registry?
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good portable app that will read media files on the drive its installed on and let you organize the way the files are displayed/cataloged/listed? Preferably one that allows customized, Thumbnails, categories, vintage, and other details.
I installed Task Coach to have a look at it and it seems to leave a folder behind in user docs. Looking in the settings there is an option to save config files in the program folder but that was unchecked by default.
We have learned that Dia developer Steffen Macke passed away earlier this year in May. In addition to being the developer and maintainer of the Windows and Mac ports of Dia, he was also a longtime member of the open source community. He was known to be friendly and helpful. He was even kind enough to briefly join our community a few years ago to assist with troubleshooting a Dia issue.
Bart.S, the packaging developer for Dia Portable, has posted a kind note to the Gnome mailing list here: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/dia-list/2014-November/msg00047.html
Sourceforge is having site troubles today. Main page is up, but downloads are failing with error messages. I cannot currently download Portable Apps because of this. Is there another link to download (safely) Portable Apps besides from SourceForge?
Hi,
It is not possible to use two instances at the same time on Chrome.
Thats why I start to use Chrome by giving it a user profile directory parameter.
I create a .bat file which includes this command:
E:\PortableApps\PortableApps\GoogleChromePortable\GoogleChromePortable.exe --user-data-dir="E:\MyPersonelData\ChromeUserData"
I have some question here. I would be happy if you can answer me:
1- When I start the .bat file, the command line windows is appearing. But it is not closing until any Chrome window closes. But want it to close itself. How can I make this?
