Storage during utilization of Firefox Portable

Submitted by tapsklaps on February 8, 2011 - 7:56am

When I listen a song at an on demand webservice (for example at http://www.deezer.com), I can`t find the directory where this song is saved. I use Firefox Portable at my local machine and in the preferences the offline cache is by default 0 MB. Neither in FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\OfflineCache nor in the Temp directory of my local machine I find anything. But where is the song saved in the moment when I listen it?

outdated version historys

Submitted by Randomcore on February 6, 2011 - 3:28pm

hi

thank you very much for all that great stuff you give to us, but could you please maintain the version history of all these apps? most (or all?) are old and outdated. i'm very interested in version history to see all the changes made. especially those made on the revisions, like at least on clam antivirus and 7-zip.

thank you!

Quick observation about home page

Submitted by jkemp on February 4, 2011 - 1:40pm

I noticed the home page main module (if thats what it's called) is shifted to the right. The top banner and navigation bar are all lined up nicely. The module I'm referring to has the PortableApps Menu and news. The entire thing needs to moved to the left just slightly. Even the Firefox Icon link and RSS icon at the very bottom all line up with the top.

I'm using Google Chrome Beta.

Suggestion for PortableApps build process

Submitted by dflannery on February 4, 2011 - 3:37am

Would it be possible to re-release the apps with each executable having details derived from the contents of the application page at the time that particular version was released.

e.g. The Summary tab of file properties for K-3DPortable_0.8.0.1_English.paf.exe would have the following attributes embedded in the executable:

Title="K-3D Portable"

Subject="K-3D is a 3D modeling and animation software package. It combines flexible plugins with a visualization pipeline architecture, making K-3D a versatile and powerful tool for artists."

Input requested

I know already that a network drive can run pac as long as it is shown as a removable drive, but I have another question

I am working with a network/systems admin who wants to give each of his users a portion of the file server as a virtual drive. He also wants pac, along with a custom set of apps, installed on each portion by default. Any advice or direction would be welcome.

PortableApps on a micro SD card in Virgin Mobile's Broadband USB device

Submitted by tvme on February 3, 2011 - 12:46pm

Has anybody tried this? A search didn't show anything but I may have done it wrong.

There is a micro SD slot in my Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go dongle. But there's no sense buying a micro SD card if it won't work. Might be kind of neat to have everything in one dongle.

The package says: "Doubles as a flash drive with microSD reader". It is an Ovation MC760 if that means anything to anyone.

Thanks,
Bob
