Install *Everything* ability?

Submitted by nmanguy on August 27, 2010 - 2:16am

Hey everyone, it's been a while, but it looks like there's a crapload of apps now. So... does anyone know a fast way to install everything into the suite? It would literally take hours to install it all manually, and the "Standard" suite version only has 10 apps or so.

I looked at the 2.0 beta updater, but it seems to only update the apps you've already installed, and not actually install new ones.

Couldn't get audio and video Flash files to playback in Poodle

Hi,
I downloaded Poodle and created some quizzes for offline use in a computer lab.
When I copied Poodle into the local harddisks in the lab PCs, and ran my Moodle quiz, I found that I could not see my audio or video files (audio was mp3 and video was flv formats, respectively)
When I was creating these quizzes on my own PC, I could view these files and there were NO ISSUES viewing, listening and playing them back.
This only occurred when I transferred the whole Thumbdrive Poodle data into another PC.

Self PA Update Guide

Submitted by ElSid on August 24, 2010 - 6:02pm

Hope all is well. I was curious to find out if there is a guide on how to update a portable app ourselves. This would allow the end user to be able to update an app while the official PA package is developed. The reason I ask is that there have been several Apps that have been updated in the last couple of weeks, but not the PA version. If I new/understood how to update the base app myself, that would be helpful.

install by copy?

Submitted by healer on August 24, 2010 - 12:45am

When I set up my first USB stick I ran PortableApps.com_Suite_Setup_1.6.1_English.exe. Will it work if I set up another one by copying from one stick to another or to a portable drive or to an external drive all the files including the hidden files and the system files if there is any? Does any file need to be at the root directory? Do the locations of the files really matter?

Well, I got the StartKey, and it really sucks

StartKey is MojoPac?
The website I downloaded it from said it was startkey, but then the installer was called 'MojoPac Installer'. I thought maybe it was like an InstallShield Wizard thing, but called MojoPac. Well, when I ran the program, it identified itself as MojoPac, not StartKey, so IDK WTF is wrong with the name.

Experience

codec or player?

Submitted by jchase520 on August 17, 2010 - 8:05pm

Ok , let me say , I have a LCD TV , that has a USB and a SD reader on it , and I load up some movies that were encoded with divx and some xvid movies , some movies work and some get a "codec not supported" error.

So my question , is there a way to either install / update the codecs on the TV , or can I install a player or a codec on my flash drive that will play through the tv?
