Blocking pages

Does anyone know how to block pages through firefox (portable?) or any other browser?

I convinced my (co-volunteer?) to get internet for our (church) school because he had previously taken it out because others were going to bad websites, yada, yada, yada.

I know how to block websites with safari on a mac but I have no clue what web browsers can do so on a PC.

Any ideas?

Website Suggestions

Submitted by chinthor on September 3, 2009 - 5:38pm

Just some ideas for the website.

First, I guess, have a section for suggestions. Smile

Mainly, you might want a download feature I've seen elsewhere. Since you have such a long list of tiny downloads, us a sort of "shopping cart" approach and allow a person to download them all at once.

Thanks. Cheers!

any body can learn me how Merge or mix two or three setting.regs in one?( HKCU+HKLM+..to SETTING .REG)

for example.
${registry::SaveKey} "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\App" "$SETTINGSDIRECTORY\setting1.reg" "" $R0
${registry::SaveKey} "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\App" "$SETTINGSDIRECTORY\setting2.reg" "" $R0
and...
setting1.reg+setting2.reg+... JUST mix to one SETTING.reg and save to settingdirectory

Uninstalling Items.

Hey everyone,

I've only been using this program for a few days, and I have been downloading many apps to test, I've found a handful that I'm happy with and will use regularly, but.. I have a list of about 25 programs now, and I don't need the others. I have limited space on my flash drive and I was hoping that there is a way to uninstall items? So I can make it easier for myself to locate what I'm needing.

Thanks in advance,

-Taz

Ceedo Shot in Foot?

Submitted by GrahamG on September 2, 2009 - 7:36am

I am thinking of adopting Ceedo as my preferred 'portable environment'.

Alas, when I downloaded the latest version of Ceedo Personal, everything was fine although I kept getting what looked like an internet access everytime I changed something in the Ceedo Options tab. I thought that strange and the Ceedo forum said it was a known bug that would be fixed in their next release.

The great value of running portable apps from the hard disk

Submitted by xrvjorn on August 30, 2009 - 2:05pm

In some forum posts I've seen here, it seems that some people overlook the value of having a portable version of an app that you only run from the hard drive. So far, I haven't run any portable app from a USB stick, only from the hard drive. I prefer portable apps because of

- They don't slow down the computer by insisting on loading on startup.

- They don't contribute to WinRot or Registry Rot.

Still waiting for categories

Submitted by icbweb on August 30, 2009 - 6:48am

Like a lot of people still waiting for categories. Has been talked about for a while. Any ETA on this feature? It seems the aim of the game getting "more apps" with that pretty little PAF extension rather than improvements to the platform. the proof of this being look at how many new apps come out compared to platform updates & betas.

Excuse my anger but the categories carrot has been dangled in front of our faces for quite a while and has not happend & last time I asked in a post it was ignored.

USB explorer

Submitted by Simonsays on August 29, 2009 - 2:00pm

I am looking for a way to create instructions that pop up automatically when you pop in a usb thumb drive. I would like to display images in windows explorer, if at all possible. I am unsure whether custom icons is the way to do this, or if there is a way to inject html or alter the visuals of windows explorer into something more friendly to create a more intuitive experience for users of my little usb device.
