Nice apps but am unable to download anything. Never had this much trouble in the past. I can download from the info box and stand alone apps without any difficulties. Scourceforge just sits there as does all there mirror site and their direct link says timed out, repeatedly.
Anyways keep up the good apps. but please what's the deal with downloading hassels? Can you guys loose the google-analytics and doubleclick (scourceforge)?

Please humour me as I'm new at all this. Can I use the Postable Apps platform to run either Skype or Photoshop Elements 6?
If not, can U3 or any of the other alternative platforms run Photoshop Elements 6? I have the original CD.
Thanks for your assistance!
I've been using PortableApps on a this memory card successfully for about a month now. I just installed OO.o 3 on the microSD card used with a USB card reader.
My computer can't read the card anymore, it sees the USB mass storage device in device manager but no disk in disk management (well it sees a removable disk but no size or anything like that). Windows explorer sees the disk but when I double click it I get a prompt asking to insert a disk in the drive.
The memory card is working fine on other computers and can still launch all PortableApps installed on it.
The recent question on whether or not to switch from ANSI to Unicode in the next Notepad++ Portable is actually part of a larger discussion on whether it is worth it to continue supporting Windows 95/98/Me and ANSI.
Ok, so a new Notepad++ release is upon us and, as it has been a week, it appears to be stable. Unlike before when over 1/2 of the standard plugins hadn't been updated for Unicode, it now appears that all the standard plugins except for LightExplorer have been updated, so that's the only thing you lose by switching. Well, that and Windows 9x compatibility, of course.
So, I'm thinking it may be time to switch from ANSI to Unicode for Notepad++ Portable 5.1.2. Any other thoughts?
Hello Community,
Quite unfortunately there's been an issue with my server and various directories of users have been removed. I'm doing all I can to try and have these directories recovered, but in the mean time all the files that were in these directories and were linked to from PortableApps.com will be missing in action. The users I noticed that were affected are as follows: David Dixon, Oliver Krystal, Kevin Porter, powerjuce, digitxp's old releases will be gone, and I noticed an issue with Zach Hudock's directory, but it looks like everything is there, and I seriously hope it is.
I think both are portable and free. Which is better? In terms in memory usage, fuction, speed.
I often run PortableApps from a RAM stick on my own Vista 32-bit PC. Some applications (Eraser, for example) require elevation in Vista. I'd like to be able to right-click in the PortableApps menu and select "Run As Adminstrator" but that's not available.
How can I elevate PortableApps applications? And no, I don't want to turn UAC off in Vista.
Thanks!
PS. Forgive me if this has been discussed already, I did a forum search but found nothing.
