Trouble switching bet vista & linux --- error messages (firebird) not saving to sent file (thunderbird)
Are there any thumbdrive applications for...
1 - File Copying
... I'm trying to copy the entire My Documents folder to another disk and XP Pro tells me some of the file names are to long... and then aborts the copy. Then I have to spend a lot of time to try and find out which file... change the name... then completely start over as the XP Copy command won't resume where from where it aborted.
2 - Disk Imaging Application
... We need a simple thumb drive application that will let us...
..... Create an image of a hard disk (Saved to a CD or DVD, of course)
The Logging int he IRC channel has gotten out of control. Several times a day I, along with other regular users are told to read the logs to see "well tommy called bobby a name" or "IRCuser33 is a total n00b look what he asked!" and Other JUNK like that.
This is madness.
The logging was put in as a teaching tool, for us to review support, see how stuff worked, and try to make support better. not to tattle on our fellow portableappers and see who says what about who, and to spy on what they say about each other while I'm not in the room.
I'm proud to announce that the PortableApps.com Release Team has been selected. The Release Team will be helping move apps from Development Test to Pre-Release and from Pre-Release to Final by helping to ensure testing is done, compliance with PortableApps.com Format Specs, etc. After discussions among some developers and site admins, here's our team:
Hey guys,
My first post
Sorry I know this has been discussed endlessly and it's clear that a hardware based USB stick is the way to go if you want secure, encrypted portable app mobility.
But my question is 'Which to go for'?
As I'm likely to be spending good money of one I need to make sure it's the right one.
At present I've got 2 listed:
Kingston Datatraveler Secure
Ironkey (not happy with the built in Firefox)
Hello,
How can I have my thumb drive require a password before allowing access? (I used to use a u3 thumb drive and it was set up that way.)
Basically I am looking to make my entire drive un-accessable without a password.
Ideally I would like to make just portions of it protected but that might be more difficult?
Thanks for your help.
Carlos
So snapfiles.com even has a special "Handy Programs to put on a USB" section, but PA isn't there? I've contacted them several times with no response. Just thought it'd be a good place to list the suite, no?
Hey folks.
I find the Portable Apps very handy and convenient, thank you. However, I have a list of about 15 apps that scroll in the launcher list. Is there a method for me to create a folder called "utilities" and put certain apps in there and the same for "office" and "etc".
Please if anyone knows a way to create folders to better organize my portable apps I'd be very much appericative.
Thanks,
Avery
