Distinguishing 32bit and 64bit Versions

Submitted by 32+64bitUser on January 20, 2021 - 9:25am

Hi there,

I help old people with older systems just as WinXP or WIN7 via USB stick to slower computers with limited resources that are just as old and of only 32-bit. Sometimes they´re even offline.

I must download 32-bit programs with my 64-bit notebook here and can´t use any automatic detection due to the fact that a accidentaly downloaded 64-bit version is then useless if transported to a 32-bit system.as a cuckoo egg Wink and I have to repeat the same procedure as last year.

KeePassXC problems

Submitted by ASJ on January 19, 2021 - 6:11pm

FYI - I have twice tried to update KeePassXC via the PA Updater with no success. I finally resorted to a manual download and install through the PA website. This was successful. Just thought you might want to know.

New program to answer dialog/msgbox prompts...already portable

Submitted by msgbox on January 12, 2021 - 1:16pm

I am new to this site and not sure the lay of the land, so I will apologize now....
I have created a new program that will answer windows dialog and message box prompts
depending on the title in the box. The program is already portable and is a command line program
that runs as a background process....I initially created it for an annoying error message that came up every 30 seconds
on one of my old discontinued programs I use and have since found many other uses for it...eg: nag screens, "save as" prompts etc...

Controlling "desktop portable VLC" via my Android phone (as a remote)

Submitted by thank_you_for_p... on December 26, 2020 - 11:22pm

There are many apps for using one's Android phone as a remote control for desktop VLC.

However, from my research, they expect a regular install of VLC, not a portable install.

Have you figured out how to control "desktop portable VLC" via your phone?

(Worst case scenario, I'll go with using a "remote desktop" app to get my PC's screen on my phone [with a cursor], and use that).
