Can I take a usb portable drive and have it work?
Specifically can I make my 160gig passport run u3 programs?
Thanks
Frank
Hello everyone, i had just got my 8 gig memory stick today specifically for portable apps. I installed the standard version today but the menu would not load. So i installed the base version and decided to build off of that.
I installed pidgen and open office immediately after i installed base, and when i did so i unplugged the device and pluged it back in to make sure it worked properly, and it did.
hey all
i was just curious which one is better,
pidgin or miranda
hey guys,
i've got a new theme that i'd like to share. 2b honest, it's not exactly
a 'new theme' but i've changed the looks of the menu i kinda skin it. hehe.
It is based on Royal Noir Theme by PAM Themes (http://blog.kain-planet.de/?cat=6)
And i call it, Port.Warez (portable softwares). It's nothing special but just thought
that i want to share it with my PortableAppers.
Just click on the link below and unzip it using winrar to your favourite thumbdrive or any portable devices.
But please dont keep it in a file cause i've included the autorun script(by Xrx)
I and a friend (and maybe later a group of people) plan to use network device. Some online storage such as (s)ftp or ssh. This ftp drive will be mounted into windows explorer (with ftpdrive, sftpdrive or netdrive or just with the windows explorer build in function).
Purpose? We want to share a calendar (either the hole Sunbird on that device or just the profile folder), some source code files, documents and stuff like that.
Any suggestions for a work around for recognizing and evoking the portable app from the file or explore mode.
An example would be when the user, (in the file folder or explorer mode) double clicks on a open office file it will not start the open office application from the portable app, when the open office software is not on the operating system which the USB stick is plugged into.
Hi there,
for some reason I can't install portable apps on my 4gb astone usb stick. It comes up with:
#0 PortablApps_Suite_Standard_1.0.exe is not supported archive.
the error message is from 7-zip
I've tried both the light and the standard version, both won't work. I had tried to put portable apps on a few weeks ago and it worked fine, so don't know what's wrong now.
Any ideas?
Thanks
kabo
Is there anyway to prevent the Portable Apps Suite from minimizing automatically to the tray after starting a program?
I mostly use the suite at my school computer labs, which are locked with Desktop Authority, which apparently won't give me access to the anything on the task bar, including the system tray icons (I can't even right click!).
Thanks!
Today is Ryan's birthday. Not sure if he wanted the other folks here to know... but screw it, I'm blabbing. For those who don't know, Ryan McCue is one of the site moderators/developers here at PortableApps.com. So, happy birthday, Ryan!
