I'm familiar with the concept of portable applications, and I use the portable version of many of the applications that I use on a daily basis. But they don't need any special "platform" to run them - you just unzip them, and the configuration information is kept in a file instead of in the Windows registry. You can put the whole thing on a USB drive if desired, or wherever you want. So what exactly is the purpose of this PortableApps "platform"? What does it do? Why should I install it?

I would like to add Pyfa which is an EVE online ship fitting simulator. The software is licensed with GPL v3.0 and hosted on GitHub. I have created the installer from the current release and would like to add it to the portable apps platform. The GitHub page is: https://github.com/pyfa-org/Pyfa

I want to put my passwords ( using Lastpass) on an USB Stick.

I use Linux (Ubuntu 17.10) and an Android mobile phone

I have a 32GB swivel stick with USB one side and USB C for the phone.

I have looked at Firefox and Chrome but there only seems to be Windows .exe files which won't run on Linux.

Am I missing something here as I have searched your website for a Linux version.

I'd appreciate any help here.

I don't know if this has been requested previously but when I am using non-PA.c application, often they have multiple entries; which aren't relevant to the main programs' operation, e.g. ImageMagick so could it would be great if the Developer(s) could implement a feature such as this for convenience.

Also, I may have mentioned before but it would also be nice to suppress updating of specified little-used programs and have an option that when opened it will search for updates; that way I don't have to remove them (apps) entirely but otherwise a great effort ongoing.

I have made threads subscriptions.
But when I got Emails, with different topics, I can see only this:

so I can't realize easily what topic I got response.
So make the subject short - the name of topic

Another thing is that I got an Email even if it was just me that replyed to the topic.
I think it will better to get an Email notifications only when others are replying but not me.

Let's say someone wants to test and compare 2 versions of a portable app.
For example, he has 2 portable program folders:
AppPortable v3.0
AppPortable v3.5

He wants to run the two AppPortable.exe simultaneously.
The settings of AppPortable v3.0 will be saved in AppPortable v3.0
The settings of AppPortable v3.5 will be saved in AppPortable v3.5
How to do that?

I have been trying to update Nethack and keep getting a error. Is anyone else having issues or just me ?

I have always read that portable programs do not create registry entries. However, when I enter HKEY_CURRENT_USER I see that there are several registry entries. Is this normal?

In case you dislike or encounter problems with the new version after upgrading.
