VirtuaWin Portable [Test 1]

Submitted by Patrick Patience on June 14, 2007 - 3:42pm

VirtuaWin Portable is a portable version of VirtuaWin a virtual desktop creator/manger.

You'll really find this program handy if you're on someone's computer using your Portable Apps, but all of their programs and windows are still open, you simply create a new virtual desktop, and have a fresh start, and then simply switch back to the original desktop when you are done.

Portable Startup Utility 1.5 Beta - Testers Needed

SmithTech's picture
Submitted by SmithTech on June 12, 2007 - 4:34pm

I need testers for the new beta.
PSU Beta
No new functionality from 1.3, only new code.
I changed the list box in the Launch Apps section to a listview, and changed the registry editing code for the environment variable.

I need a thorough test of the new code.
Specifically, does the new environment variable work?
Are there any issues with the new listview control? specifically the users who were getting the error 429 with earlier versions.

A Note Portable [Test 4] - Note Taking Utility

Submitted by Patrick Patience on June 6, 2007 - 9:51pm

Skip all this and just A Note Portable [Test 4], but if you know NSIS, I'd appreciate is you kept reading. And please let me know if your notes open on last exit re-open on the next run of different computers, thanks.

Alright, the old thread got a little long and full of things I've corrected, so since I'm at test 4, I've decided to start a new thread. There was an extra line in the script in test 3 that was screwing things up, so I removed it, and made the copying of the settings silent.

This is mainly a bug fix release over Prerelease 4, so here's what you need to know.

  • The new progress boxes were finished and should now stay responsive
  • An abort button has been added to the progress boxes
  • Copying file attributes/timestamps should now always work

The files are hosted by Ryan and are here.

A quick summary of the features available is here.

Enjoy!

Shellfish Portable [AntiKeylogger]

To start you may not sue me for anything related to this program. This program should work, but there is no guarantee.

Now that I have that off my chest Shellfish is a program that I wrote that I have never before released. It uses one of two methods to get the text to the other program without the keylogger knowing. Method 1 uses a paste technique. It will only work with standard windows Edit controls. Method 2 overwrites the clipboard, but it will work with most controls.

Windows File Explorer Portable Launcher [Test 1]

Windows File Explorer Portable-Read the FULL POST to make sure you get everything you need.

Windows File Explorer is a regular file explorer, like Windows Explorer, but with many more options such as two panels, file previews, and more. The application is also free, but not open-source. I decided to make a launcher for it anyways because it my personal opinion, it's a fairly decent file browser.
