ZSNES Portable 1.51 Pre-Release 1 (Testers Needed)

Submitted by John T. Haller on July 11, 2007 - 8:15pm

I've posted a test release of ZSNES Portable. ZSNES is the best SNES/Super Famicom emulator out there and the portable version is configured to automatically support ROMs, game saves, etc within its own directory. Settings, game saves, etc are kept in the Data directory (for easy backup) and ROMs and graphics are kept in the App directory. You can just take your existing SNES ROMs and drop them into ZSNESPortable\App\roms and they'll work. The launcher sets up the proper paths for ZSNES on each launch.

Okay I made a Pre-release of my suite's Ultimate Edition.

Here's what's new:

Packaged with a PortableApps Installer!-When you install be sure to redirect it directly to the PortableApps folder (not a subfolder within the PortableApps folder)
Added lots of new games! (Yipee!)
Added ConveyPortable

TODO:

Improve PortableAppsInstaller- Make it so it does not install the suite in a seperate folder within the PortableApps folder.
Finish the Support App (Sumatra PDF+AutoIT Script made to launch a PDF containing actual and useful support and help)!

PortableApps.com Installer - Only GPL

Submitted by Patrick Patience on July 11, 2007 - 3:12am

So, I can't use the PortableApps.com Installer for TTCalc Portable since TTCalc is under the BSD License?

John, you told me how Creative Commons and GPL don't mix, is it the same thing with BSD and GPL, and even if not, you're only allowing it to be used for GPL'd apps, unless distributed with you? I think that's what I understand.

I don't get it, why? TTCalc is still open-source, you wrote the PortableApps.com Installer, why can't is be used for more than GPL? I don't get it...

MemPad 3.21 Portable - Testers needed

Submitted by Zappa on July 10, 2007 - 5:52pm

I was looking around for a simple and portable text outliner, but didn't find anything that fitted my needs. I found MemPad, self-containing and small, but when started from PAM it writes it's *.ini anywhere in PAM's folder, but not in it's app folder. So I created a little portable launcher, based on Portable application template version 2.1 created by Karl Loncarek.
If anybody is interested in testing it, download it here.

Easy Theme Installer [Test 1] - NeoRame Read.

Submitted by Patrick Patience on July 9, 2007 - 1:09pm

This is an installer I've made for NeoRame, it's a simple modification of John's portable app installer, except it's for themes.

The installer is Copyright John T. Haller of PortableApps.com. I only modified it a bit.

The package includes a readme that tells you everything you need and need to do.

This installer can ONLY be used with theme released under the GPL License, which is included. Read the comment below as well.

Portable Apps Menu Mod Draggable Version * outdated *

Submitted by xrxca on July 9, 2007 - 5:39am

New version posted: Link
OK, so netroid9 is finished for the time being, I was going to send him these mods, so instead I've added them myself.
For now there is just one change, but it needs testing (especially by others with multiple monitors) and that is the menu can now be dragged around on screen, left click and drag anywhere that isn't an active control (button etc) and you can move the menu around the screen.
