Submitted by SilentWalker on January 23, 2009 - 11:33am

I got Inkscape, Photoshop and GIMP; but that's it. I know the basics but where cn I find "how-to's" and tutorials for making wallpapers like these with the three applications above

http://www.box.net/shared/lhl8i15jaj

I would also like to know how to make a PortableApps splash screen (without the logo ofcourse). I especially like the green RegShot one.

Thanks a lot,

I'm trying to find a free webhost for a tech site I'm hoping to get started. I need a message board, a blog, and a general information page. I'm getting a domain from here (http://www.co.cc/) hopefully, and I want to know if it's possible to get a wordpress.org blog up on HelioHost.
Also, is it possible to get multiple authors for this site?
Help?

how are drives marked removable?

Submitted by ottosykora on January 18, 2009 - 10:13am

Meanwhile I have searched all the partitions and sectors for some obvious places where such info could be stored, but a hard drive, connected via such usb adaptor is a hard drive and not removable, thus can be formated in many ways.

A flash stick however, still insists to be a removable device, and so behaving slightly differently.

Does someone has an info where exactly the bit saying it is removable or not is sitting?

I know it is worthless to make any modifications to the website layout, as the Operating System and the Web Browser are in a Beta state, but I just wanted to show how the website looks like under Windows 7/Internet Explorer 8 Beta.

What [Free/Open source] Portable Programs do you have on your Flashdrive that's NOT 'PortableApps'

Submitted by kermit.frog on January 14, 2009 - 2:47pm

This may be in wrong Forum but......

I was curious on what Free/Opensource programs other people have put on their USB Flash drive & found that they have run 'OK' without being 'modified' by those clever people @ PortableApps.com.

I'll start the ball rolling with what I have found that work on my Flash Drive.
Note that I DON'T include any programs found on PortableApps.com (either released/beta or trials) - this is for NON-PortableApps.com programs

Where to find open source developers? - PLEASE HELP

Submitted by getco on January 11, 2009 - 5:20am

So where could one find a community of OSS developers and suggest them an idea and see if a team can be formed to work on it?

EDIT: I REALLY, REALLY want to make this happen!

Please help friends!

It's an amazing idea - it's simple, yet convenient and secure password/personal info manager! Much simpler than KeePass or RoboForm.
