Can someone please explain what is the deal with Mono. I understand its a .NET aternative but there is some hurrah about its OSS nature. Can someone please explain what is Mono exactly, is it OpenSource and why is it causing issues within the OSS community.

Many thanks

Help with Regshot results for Evernote Portable

Submitted by getco on December 15, 2008 - 6:26am

Hey there,

I haven't used Regshot before so I was wondering if you could give a little input on the results it gave me after comparing before and after use of Evernote 3 Portable. I do see some instances of Evernote in the output file but I'm not sure if these are essential...

Screen capturing a WMV file - impossible?

Submitted by getco on December 7, 2008 - 11:26am

I've been toying around for the past hour to make a screen shot of a WMV video yet the moment I close the video the picture becomes blank... that's like beyond my understanding... I've used various players and various image programs but with no result.

OK these might explain it...

Best way of blocking ads in google chrome

I don't know if any of you here uses google chrome/chromium/iron. Iron has already adblocking by downloading a .ini file. I read many ways already of blocking ads in google chrome. Using privoxy(if you are reading lifehacker), hosts file. I like something as effective as adblock plus addon in firefox. Where you can click the block thingy near the ad or right click on an unblocked ad or picture and click block with AdBlock.

And don't tell me to use firefox because i'm talking about Chrome
