Partioning and booting muiltiple OSes off of a Portable Drive

Submitted by gregnorris on November 30, 2008 - 2:24pm

First off sorry for the long title, second sorry if this just doesn't seem to fit. My goal is to create 4 partitions on my portable Hard Drive, 1 for a boot manager that can let me choose which OS to load (and choose between my external and the local drive) 2 a Windows XP Partition, 3 a Knoppix Partition, 4 just a regular data partition for Portable FireFox and such. I plan on using Qemu to emulate the partitions when I'm on library systems and the built in boot manager for when I'm on my home computer (Which is actually my moms computer).

urchintracker and sharethis.com on portableapps.com web pages

Submitted by reepicheep on November 30, 2008 - 11:19am

This isn't about portableapps per se so I'm posting it here. There are some strange things in the HTML for this web site.

I block google-analytics.com (AdBlockPlus is so useful) but I see an message in the JavaScript concoles saying the urchintracker can't be found. What is this JavaScript function supposed to do and why, when it's not in any of the scripts, is there an error from every page on this site? Including the create topic page for posting this message.

One central dictionary?

Submitted by getco on November 26, 2008 - 5:08pm

OK this might be a dumb question but I have to ask it. Is there such a thing as an unified/standard dictionary format which could be used by all applications so that I could have one central dictionary file and Firefox, Thunderbird and Open Office would use it instead of me adding new words to each one of them. It would definitely be cool, and if other applications could also use it then it's even better.
