Mass download installers without the platform?

Since the platform does not yet support saving installers during update, is there a way for me to download all the updates en-masse without hurting my wrists doing one file at a time?

I'd even pay for either a dvd update or usb key update once or twice a year (Or more).

I have a lot of friends who like portableapps but don't have my internet bandwidth and I'm trying to help them out.

Help with updating OpenVPN to latest version

Submitted by Rochey on February 4, 2014 - 6:10am

I managed to find OpenVPN portable 1.8.2 which updated to version 2.2.2 when I first ran it. The latest version is 2.3.2 (with some fixes that I need) I thought I would replace the files that the 2.2.2.zip replaced so that it would become the latest version, but when I did it wouldn't open the gui. It would just kill itself.

Is there anyone that could help? Is there something else that needs to be done?

Navigate *completely* anonymous using portable apps

Submitted by javiwankenobi on February 3, 2014 - 6:53pm

I recently got assigned a laptop from the company I work for. While at home, I want to be able to use it for personal browsing, but my company has strict rules against this.

Specifically they dont allow:
-Use of other browser than IE
-Use of social networks, netflix, spotify, etc
-Installing any software on the laptop.

Since Im not required work from home, I think what I do in my free time shouldnt be bound to these rules. So Im wondering how I can bypass all these limitations.

I'd like some assistance from folks in troubleshooting the McAfee Stinger online installer. These steps will need to be taken from a network that hasn't been previously used to manually download stinger32.exe from McAfee. By network, I mean your internal network with the same public facing IP address.

1. Download McAfee Stinger Portable.

Portableapps removed yet still functioning....Help please.

Hi there,

I am helping a friend who installed portableapps but didn't like the fact it renamed drives (well semi renamed them), I searched and told him about editing the autorun.ini and changing the label as instructed on here. He did this but said the name remained portableapps.com so he asked me how to remove portableapps, again I checked here and saw it was a 'snap' and got him on the flashdrives to remove the portableapps dir and autorun, he instead formatted the drives so basically the same.

How to format a flash drive for Windows 7 not to create a Recycle Bin on it?

Along these lines: https://superuser.com/questions/76707/how-do-i-get-windows-7-to-not-use-...

But from the standpoint you only have control of the flash drive not the Windows system:

My observation is that if I plug in an MP3 player/Kindle/Smartphone, Windows will not write a Recycle Bin on the drive.

Licensing

Hi All.

I am totally confused on the licensing part and I need some clarification.

I am creating a shareware USB portable software and I would like to bundle few other portable software from portableapps.com from different categories and also Firefox Portable. As I understand these are GPL.

I can do the following:
1. Put all software in my installer and provide it to user to install it.
2. I can also make two installers, one for my shareware and one for GPL software.

Which is the right way of doing it from licensing point of view?
