As a professor, I personally use many PortableApps, and require my students to use them as well. Is there a way to set up a "Custom Collection" of apps with a link for ease of downloading? As of now, I have students come by so I can copy them on to their pen drives, one at a time.

I would like to support PA.c. If I purchase a PA.c Companion will some of the money go to helping PA.c?

I would like to help the cause, though it may be a small amount.

I am a novice to this subject matter so please forgive my ignorance. I would like to know if i can download a portable app to my computer hard drive and usb device, but only install it on my usb device. This way I can keep the version of the app on my pc, as a master, so if i have to reinstall it on the usb drive i have the master app on the pc, copy it to the usb drive and reinstall it?
Any suggestions

Windows machines can do a lot more than just run windows programs and the USB ports can be used for a lot more than just recharging your peripherals and transferring data. Here is a list of Emulators available from PortableApps.com. Almost all of these are in the beta stage or listed as development test, but they seem to work just fine.

Do not ask about ROM or BIOS files.

Hi,

I am user, very satisfied, with portable apps but i have some problems: FF 23.0.1 frozes every time i use it (a few seconds) why?, and the most important Opera 12.16 is outdated, and now it is in 16 version why Opera is not updated?

I recently had to help someone that had some malware installed on his computer. This malware also prohibbited the execution of *.exe files. To solve this I had to download rkill.com. Now I wanted to add the rkill.com in the portableapps tree structure. But when I do a "refresh apps icons" only *.exe files are added but not the *.com files.

Could anyone please tell me what to do about it? Is itrealy not possible or have I missed someting?

One of the bugaboos nuts like me, who overload their computers with a lot of programs, run into is the over demand/utilization of system resources.

When not running a portable app does it eat into the system resources or only use resources when actually being used?

When creating something to be used in other programs, that might not be available in a portable form, how is that data preserved to be available to the more classical programs?

I have a Java jar file which I need to open with Java 6. JavaPortableLauncher I believe runs Java 7 (if installed).

I need to have both Java 6 and 7 on my USB stick. How can I run the specific jar file with Java 6 while also keeping Java 7 on the USB stick for all other applications?

I think this is important: Which are "100% portable" and which are not?

Of all the apps in PortableApps.com, can someone please list down for us, the ones which are "truly 100% portable" and the ones which are "not fully portable."

1.) 100% portable - doesn't leave any trace on the host PC that is used.

2.) Not fully portable - leaves some trace or saves data on the host PC.
