Batch file launcher in assembler

Submitted by musicman on October 19, 2007 - 3:30am

I'm aware that my problem is only loosely connected with PortableApps but since the germ of the idea started here, I'm hoping that at least I can be pointed to a forum somewhere that might help me with an assembly language program.

It started with wanting to launch a specific batch program from the PortableApps Menu. I found a solution for that, several actually.

Search Bar.

John I know we have the cool little bar now but wouldn't it be neat if you could put it in Firefox. Have you ever noticed you go to some sights like wikipedia and you click the drop down menu it says add "blah". Think we could have one for portable apps??

Shareaza Portable -- Any Progress on this?

Pardon for adding another thread about it, but I was wondering if there's any word on Shareaza being made a portable app?

I know there's an unofficial version (more of a launcher) on the forums, but it requires extra downloads, some assembly & other stuff to make it "Portable Apps Ready".

Just wondering if there's any "Official Beta" available.

Can't close menu - Remove drive

Submitted by Louden on October 17, 2007 - 8:23am

Tried to install Suite but installation got hung up at about 25% and would not go further. Installed Lite plus two Apps. Problem is that the close button (x) on menu has no effect. If I try to safely remove drive I get message that drive is in use and can't be closed. Not a good option if I'm using drive on borrowed machine. Do others have this problem?

Oh yes, we all know: it's done when it's done. it's gruesome. Almost every hour I'm looking for a new beta or the Pam 1.5. I wish to become more details of the new theme format to rebuild all my themes in sufficient time. Sometimes I thought it's useless to create new themes since. I'm so curious about it.
Please be gracious. My PAM is on top since... I can't remenber. So far it's worn-out and used, I really need a new version. Take a look: my poor PAM.

Pros and Cons of installing portable apps in your desktop PC hard drive

Submitted by Pferra on October 16, 2007 - 11:28am

Hi all,

Amazed by the usefulness of portable applications, I wonder why not to install them as my main applications in my normal desktop PC.

It sounds good to have clean installations that won't mess up the registry nor leave extra data around your disk.

But, on the other hand, I think that there must be some reason to have an application normally installed in you Windows computer.

So, what are the pros and cons of using portable applications instead of normal ones?

Best regards,

Pablo
