By default Portable apps pick applications from \portableapps directory.
Is there any way to add additional directories ?
Like another \portableappsextra like that.

not sure if this is the right place and i know some of the things i'm writing have been said before.

1. re-size the PA window size - i know its hard since the background theme images are fixed sizes, so instead of allowing dynamic resizing, maybe allow predefined sizes. basically i need more height

2. sub folders - i know many asked for it and got workarounds and so on...
but nothing beats the need for real sub folders/categories.

I searched the forums and found similar discussions but not anything conclusive. My problem is that no matter which application I run from my portableapps platform, they will periodically hang for 10-20 seconds. The applications don't crash though. After said amount of time they will catch up and the "Not Responding" will go away and all is well. I have been tolerating it thus far just because I love the whole concept of portable apps, but it really does kill efficiency when I have to wait for the program to respond.

TextPad now allows itself to be made portable, and offers a BATch files and a command line to import the registration. I cannot figure out how to pass that command line to the app (or, in the alternative, run the BATCH file instead).

I have searched this forum and one post (about Firefox) came REAL close, but someone derailed it into a KeepPass discussion. I also saw some mention of [Launch] but didn't see where to put it or how it works (I tried).

Since when on a portable app, one update software delete all profiles !!!!

You ruined my day with the last update of the kitty, all profiles has been deleted and now some of them stored are lost.

Next time , put a warning that updating one application can delete all !!!

I know the team works hard to ensuring the apps are up to date, but I know that most of the time they are not.
I'm using SUMo to see what is up to date and what is not so i'll keep my portable apps (which i installed on my own and are not part of the portableapps.com suite) up to date.
SUMo makes life real easy to find out what needs handling so I recommand to use it.
maybe even add it to the portableapps.com suite (if the license is valid for that, not sure).

Is there any live chat application which can be easily integrated on my online shopping website? If any have good recommendation then please suggest.

Since the platform does not yet support saving installers during update, is there a way for me to download all the updates en-masse without hurting my wrists doing one file at a time?

I'd even pay for either a dvd update or usb key update once or twice a year (Or more).

I have a lot of friends who like portableapps but don't have my internet bandwidth and I'm trying to help them out.

I managed to find OpenVPN portable 1.8.2 which updated to version 2.2.2 when I first ran it. The latest version is 2.3.2 (with some fixes that I need) I thought I would replace the files that the 2.2.2.zip replaced so that it would become the latest version, but when I did it wouldn't open the gui. It would just kill itself.

Is there anyone that could help? Is there something else that needs to be done?

I recently got assigned a laptop from the company I work for. While at home, I want to be able to use it for personal browsing, but my company has strict rules against this.

Specifically they dont allow:
-Use of other browser than IE
-Use of social networks, netflix, spotify, etc
-Installing any software on the laptop.

Since Im not required work from home, I think what I do in my free time shouldnt be bound to these rules.So Im wondering how I can bypass all these limitations.
