Hi!
Is there a solution? FFp persistently shows the popup with "Update available". I've tried all the settings and tricks I can find on the web, but I can't get rid of these notifications....
Thanks, Z
Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere, I couldn't find anything, but I am wondering if there is anyway to have the Opera cache folders trimmed down at regular intervals. I have noticed that after using it for a few days that the folder can grow to over 1 GB. I am in no way very technical about the running of the portable apps, but wondering if I use the "AdditionalParameters=--disk-cache-size=" setting it might help.
I regularly go in and delete the thousands of cache files that build up, but thought there might be an easier way.
I have downloaded VeraCrypt from PA.c platform:

When I opened it, I got this error message:

That error message popped up immediately after clicking open to open VeraCrypt.
When I click OK on the error message, I got this:

Hi, Nick. I have followed your instructions on 'Portable Mac apps on a PC formatted USB flash drive How-to...', and here is the result: https://imgur.com/a/VucZjTP
Do I just download apps and drag and drop them into it?
But, I also found this disk on my desktop (Please ignore the blue folder; it's NOT included): https://imgur.com/a/AcQLZKy
What must I do with this disk?
I used to work in a university where malware was rampant on all the smaller local networks. I love the idea of my most,-used apps being portable on a stick. But I am a little worried about plugging a stick into a bunch of different computers. I would like to hear about people's experience with malware and it's prevention with portable apps. Also if Portableapps.com has recommended best practices for malware hygiene, I would be glad to know what they are.
Warmest regards, Andrew
When I compile with PortableApps I see that in exe have packed 32bit version off nsis plug-in.
Do it is possibile to pack instead x64 nsis plug-in?
Anyone else notice the https://download2.portableapps.com/portableapps/HWiNFOPortable/HWiNFOPor... link failing??
Hi,
Is there a way to install a PortableApps installer without wizard? I would like to create a script with a bunch of PortableApps installers without the user have to go through the installer wizard for all of them. I'm looking for sth like for instance:
NSISPortable_3.08.0.6_English.paf.exe -d "/dst_folder/"
AnotherAppPortable_3.08.0.6_English.paf.exe -d "/dst_folder/"
Cheers,
Bart
I recently updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
Earlier I had Google Chrome portable version 113.xxx, the 32-bit version.
A quick bit of googling suggests that Chrome is only available in 32-bit for Windows 10, but it's available in 32-bit or 64-bit for Windows 11.
After updating to Windows 11, I updated to the latest (current) available version of Google Chrome portable: version 114.0.5735.110.
When I look at Chrome > Help > About, I see: Version 114.0.5735.110 (Official Build) (32-bit)
Two questions:
