Hi
I hope this is ok. I just thought I'd advise people that if they use KlipFolio then I have whipped up a klip for the PortableApps 'What's New' RSS feed.
I know that any RSS reader in KlipFolio can handle this but I wanted to try my hand at making one up and PortableApps screamed at me as I use it all the time, and I have KlipFolio running on my USB drive too.
Maybe someone cleverer than me might be able to shoe-horn KlipFolio into the PortableApps structure by I don't think their code is open.
Anyway, the clip can be found here if you're interested.
Hi,
I've just got the portable apps suite lite edition and its awesome, just one problem though.
The Start menu comes up, and its all out of proportion, the lines that are meant to be outlines cut through the names of the apps in the menu and it all looks real messy. Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks
As several people have informed me, there is an issue of possible bias at Wikipedia with respect to a couple of users in their treatment of PortableApps.com. Things like systematically removing our mentions from some of the apps we package and enhance with author encouragement, highlighting a bug in the introduction, making uncited inaccurate statements in criticisms, etc. One user in particular that people had mentioned I have contacted via their talk page. We'll see what the response is.
I'm posting a link to my message here:

portable aps are fun but:
1)there is no password manager, so these still are stored on a machine or paper which must be less secure,
2)the aps seem to be operation system dependent,
3)no form of tex such as miktex,
bye,

I was reading through my usual blogs today, and noticed that PortableApps Portable Firefox 3 was mentioned on the Google Blogs as a great new way to read blogs via Google Reader.
Nicely done! PortableApps keeps getting more and more press.
It's nice having the Portable Apps Suite support different flash sizes for the suite, but the Suites are aimed at the standard of a few years back.
For example, when we buy a flash drive nowadays it's virtually impossible to find a 256MB drive and even 512MB's are getting more rare. While I not suggest to drop the smaller suite sizes for people having an old drive or ipod with only 512MB, I would suggest that the suite would aim to support modern sizes a bit more.
does drupal not have any way to set up private messages?
Steve said "used to have psuedo private messages, but they spoofed the sender field of an email and so usually got caught by spam filters!"
that's just a problem when sending emails though. what about messages that you can only see when logged into the forums? It would be so great if we had that!
