free burn software?

Submitted by jps on April 8, 2008 - 4:43pm

I need a burn software. Must have the following features
- freeware or Open Source
- Just Works™ or portable (storing settings in application folder at least)
- CD / DVD | + and - RW quick delete and full delete
- burn iso
- burn bootable media
- alternative for Nero InCD (UDF / package writing) - writing on CD / DVD by just copying/deleting with the windows explorer
- strict UDF standard so it`s compatible with linux udf also

That`s all so far I need. Can be also more then one application.

this is mostly for the devtest template

where it says

<a href="www.somesite.com/downloads.exe">Download</a>

can we change it to

<a href="www.somesite.com/downloads.exe" target="_blank">Download</a>

that way the download page pops up in a new window/tab.
(sorry for the dot, but i could not get the html to pop up without it

Application Compatibility Page

Just a quick thought, assuming it is staying, it might be nice to set someone up with the Application Compatibility Page as it is shockingly out of date Smile I would be quite happy to help out with WINE testing in the next couple of weeks, in fact I just went through a few of the pre-releases, and this is what I found:

  1. BonkEnc - Seems to run well
  2. Task Coach - Crashes at start and writes a log file, definitely doesn't seem to be compatible, although I might hack around as it complains it is missing a dll.

how to load ansi.sys?

Submitted by ottosykora on April 7, 2008 - 3:16am

I would like to run portable an application, somehow old thing, dos, but this needs the ansi.sys legacy driver to be loaded.

OK, under dos/w98 it is done in config.sys, I tried to do it under w2k to put it into the config.nt, but nothing works.

Can such ansi.sys driver be loaded from portable device so I could run this utility form other machines ?

Submitted by philwaud on April 6, 2008 - 5:11pm

Hi all

Ive been looking for a way of displaying a message to remind me to unplug my portable drive when I logoff. I know from the numerous messages all over the web that i am not alone in this quest!

Ive had an idea, its not quite there yet but it may bear some fruit!

Create a new web page, edit it so the html reads something like this:-

cache files
