I have been looking around for the best flash drive to get to run portable apps on and had settled on the Geil David. However; I could not find this sucker anywhere so I called Geil in Chino California and she told me that they no longer manufacuter flash drives. Any suggestion on what I should buy?

I just got my new Ultra FlyDrive 4GB from TigerDirect. I am constantly on the go and this application looks freaking awesome. However, and I can understand why, there are some like-programs and well, other stuff I won't use.

If I download and install the Standard Edition, can I remove a few of the applications that I do not want?

If so, how do I go about doing this?

Sorry to bother the group. I've read support page and tried to read as much of this forum as possible.

Having trouble installing the Portable App Suite (standard edition).

I did the following:

1. Downloaded App from this site to SanDisk Cruzer U3 (4GB) with Del Latitude to
the stick directory: Documents/download.

2. Cruzer U3 system mounted as G: drive; Removable Disk partition as H:

3. Clicked on PortableApps_Suite_Standard_1.0.exe file

4. Installer suggested install on root. Navigated to G:\

Hello Group;

I use "TheSage" dictionary on my PC. It is a free download.

I just found out that it is by design portable. It does not right anything to registries or other places on the hard drive. You can in fact uninstall it from your PC after you copy it over to your USB. You just install it on to your PC and then copy the entire directory on to your USB.

PAM picks it up as it only has one "exe" file in the main directory.

Silly NuB question here - I've just had a 1Gb drive, and downloaded and installed the 'standard' portable apps install (I also tried the 'barebones' version too).

I click on the 'StartPortableApps.exe' icon - I get the hour glass and then.... nothing....?

I'm probably doing something silly here - can someone tell me what it is?

I'm running Win2k server - and just in case its relevant, Sophos (yak - works machine).

When I try to download

Portable Apps Suite (Base Edition)

I get a noticed that says:

This object has been blocked.

Could someone please tell me why?

I wasn't sure where to post this, but over the past week or so, every time Preacher (he's only one i've noticed so far, but im sure others do it as well) posts a topic or a reply to a topic, all of his posts from a 2 to 3 hour period become marked as new posts in the forums.

I'm not trying to bug you with pesky little details, but the DST on your site has not yet been changed. I'm not familiar with worldwide DST, but if you intended this for the others worldwide, forgive me. Also, if anyone has not updated their computer yet for the new DST, check out these updates.

Wait... Is that an eject button?!?

Look on the main screen. Look closely at the screenshot of the portable apps program. It looks like an eject button! Cool! I wonder how to get it? I've downloaded the latest beta, so why don't I have it? HELP ME!

Anyone here know of a free program that can change the properties of files on Windows systems without administrative rights?
