Hello,
Im mainly using my portableapps suite on a system with restricted privillages, and there are only a few icons that can go in the system tray.
When you launch a program, it automatically minimizes to the system tray, so the only way to kill it is by using Process Explorer (task manager is sometimes disabled)
Can you either allow the option of making it not minimize to the tray, and it stay on the taskbar, or add a shortcut to make it open again? Or Both?

Is there a reason the zip downloads were removed from the app pages? Were they little used, and deemed unnecessary? I liked them.

I'm trying to get the Kingston u3 1GB USB flash drive to work on my windows 98SE laptop.

None of these drivers are working for me ...

Glanced at new posts, checked pstart (no new version yet) for the first time in a few months.

Just curious if there is a simple way (i don't want to write an code to save me 3 clicks) to kill all programs with a Pstart exit.

Perhaps a program that kills the 3 programs I have running? Then I have the safely_remove dll shell autorun on pstart shutdown.

Anyone have such a program, and/or a better simple solution?

Does anyone know if its possible to run AutoHotKey from a USB Flash Drive?

I am fascinated by portable applications and especially the application suite. The Word says that you should not remove the USB drive until the light stops flashing, mine never stops, if via the task bar it says can't stop, try again later. Later it is the same so I just pull the plug and so far all is well. What is the problem? how can I make the light go out?

After installing the PortableApps suite (I love it by the way), when browsing My Computer in explorer my USB drive is called 'PortableApps (I:)' and has the PortableApps arrow icon. I'd like to be able to change both the icon and the name.

If I go into the drive's properties the name can be altered but it doesn't change the name in explorer. I'd also prefer to have either the default USB drive icon or even better, be able to customize the icon to something of my own choosing. I was wondering if this was possible.

Although I live in the United States, I've received some magazines from India... and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had portable apps software from here (almost a year ago). I also could have sword I saw a portable app review or something in a Future magazine (the publisher).

I have a 1GB Sandisk Titanium Cruzer. I have removed the U3 partition and the U3 software using the available uninstaller, as well as formated the disk. I would like to divide the disk into 2 partitions, but am having trouble locating a method or software for this purpose. Ideally I would use one of the partitions as a bootable disk for bios updates and the other as simply a plug and run disk for PortableApps stuff and document storage.
The Windows XP Administrative tools>Computer Management>Disk Managment does not give the option to add/make a partition on the drive and Partition Magic 8.0 does not even show the drive (Probably since its for HDDs). Does anyone have any ideas/instructions for doing this? Ideally I would use one of the partitions as a bootable disk for bios updates and the other as simply a plug and run disk for applications and document storage.

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone can suggest a portable app that will allow me to track down high disk usage. Esssentially what I'm looking for is an alternative to JDiskReport.
