GCALDaemon for syncing Google Calendar & more

Submitted by twnty3svn on May 29, 2007 - 8:12am

Hi everyone,

Found a very useful app under GPL licence called GCALDaemon. This is a Gmail service for syncing Google Calendar and many other Google services. I've installed it locally on PC and Mac and it works a treat. Its currently synced to my portable Rainlendar and Sunbird on my PC and iCal on my Mac.

Anyone know or want to attempt to make it work portably?

This suite needs a podcast grabber

Submitted by pagesix1536 on May 27, 2007 - 9:51pm

I wrestled with trying to get MyPodder/Podcastready to work with this...but no go. Created a folder as instructed from the help on this site, and yeah I get an icon in the launcher list for podcastready.exe, but when you click it....nothing. Nothing at all happens. Check the task list, and nothing is actually run. Not sure why it won't launch the podcastready.exe app from the PortableApps launcher, so I gave up and put it in the root of my USB thumb drive. Launches fine if I double click the exe.

Cornice Portable [Image Viewer]

Submitted by Patrick Patience on May 27, 2007 - 11:06am

Sorry, I know this has been requested, and the reason I am requesting again is because in this thread, John says he has a portable version ready to go. I was going to make a portable version myself, or at least give it a shot, until I read John had a beta ready to go. I would like to say I am also interested in your test release John, if you can still find it, the post seems to be only from a few months ago. Sorry, I would have posted in that thread, but it's locked (Probally from the auto-locker).

Pidgin Portable

Submitted by Lioncourt on May 25, 2007 - 11:51am

Only recently noticed that Gaim had been replaced by Pidgin. I have been having some issues with Gaim Portable crashing in response to some people's use of word replacing icons on MSN and YIM, so I wanted to upgrade to the latest version. I am hopeful that Pidgin is going to be included in the portable apps suite, but have not seen any evidence of this. If it is already planned to be included, will there be a way to import our Gaim Portable settings and Buddy Lists?

WackGet

Submitted by Patrick Patience on May 24, 2007 - 9:11pm

Does anyone have a copy of Rob's WackGet Portable? The download on his site doesn't seem to be there anymore, nor anywhere else on his site, and I didn't see it in Ryan's downloads.

Could someone please send me a copy at mono(_)purpura(@)hotmail(.)com.

Remove all brackets in e-mail, thanks. I searched the forums to, and I couldn't find anyone with this problem. Thanks in advance.
