....like DAP. I know dap isn't OS but i ask a prog similar to that one, in a portable version! ^_^
I find it quite handy, I don't know about the legal issues though.
Also, I don't know if you've seen this, but it's a nice collection all in one .rar file

Trillian is on there, so I still don't know about legal issues
Here is a good WordPad-like word processor that does .rtf, and at 104KB, it takes up almost no space.

(Download the "Floppy Office" package of software and got to the folder called Kpad. Grab the Kpad.exe file and put it on your usb stick.)
This is an awesome text editor that is already portable and is smaller, yet has more features than most notepad-replacements.

(Scroll down and download the small package of office software called "Floppy Office". Go into the collection after downloading and go to the folder called tnp451re_uni and grab only the TedNPad.exe file and stick that on your drive.)
Here is what appears to be a good, full-featured word processor, Atlantis.

Hello
I thing Portable Total Commander is very important! (www.totalcommander.com)
Here is a nice full featured email client that runs on its own, you can just copy it to a USB stick.

(Scroll down and download the "Floppy Office" set of programs. When there, grab the zip folder that says something like "npopwin32" and unzip the program and the readme to your usb stick.)
John-
just put a link and a write-up to this in the Internet section. Thanks!
