kaspersky detects trojan when trying to use "backup"

Submitted by benma on March 31, 2008 - 1:52am

Hello.
For some reason Kaspersky AV, alerts me of: trojan.win32.agent.ixj
when i try using the "backup" feature. it's some file in folder that is being created in the user's temp directory in windows, when trying to use "backup" feature of suite.
Didn't have that problem before. Maybe this trojan was added to database of Kaspersky only lately. Nevertheless it's a trojan. Tried it with Suit Standard, light, and beta -same problem.
Anyone has a solution?
I mean, if it's a false detection, why does it pop up only on backup?

How to make a JAR file execute from the PAM

Submitted by netgk5815 on March 27, 2008 - 8:12pm

I have found a neet JAR file app I would like to run from my PortableApps menu instead of navigating to it and "double-clicking".

How would I go about getting an icon on the menu to run the JAR file? (I have chec ked the support page for PortableApps and it only mentions apps that have EXE files.)

(I hope this is the right place to post this. IMHO it is relevant to the PortableApps platform.)

Is been quite some time since the Portable Apps platform has been updated. The latest I still see is the 1.1 Beta 4 Aren't you guys that are busting your butts making new portable applications worry that ones Portable Apps 2.0 comes out it won't be compatible? I would like to learn of the status of the next release. But where would I find news of it? Anyone knows anything about this?
