Changing an App path

Submitted by deivisvieira on March 11, 2008 - 7:35pm

Hello, I did a little search here and couldn't find what I am looking for, so here it is.

I got this Firebird language extension installed. But in order to activate it, I gotta use a shortcut using the -UILocale thing at the end, and it works perfectly.
But now there it is, from the PApps menu I can't open the shortcut, even if I rename it to the same name as the usual .exe file...if there was only a way to change the path to my shortcut, it would be perfect.

Thanks in advance

i hope this is the right section to post this in, i wanted to ask why the portable apps suite requires you to install the exe instead of just adding an exe to the list. i also would like to know where the confinguration file i hear about is. all i see in options drop down box is install or remove app.

transfering applications

Submitted by eddie234 on March 1, 2008 - 1:41pm

Greetings,
I've tried searching but had no luck. I am running out of room on my current thumbdrive and I've purchased a new larger GB one. what's the easiest way to transfer everything from my old one to my new one so all my settings and preferences stay the same. Will the backup function work? or could I just copy and paste them?
Thanks,
Ed

for example:
folder Internet (all the relative programs for Internet)
folder Music (all the programs to modify and to listen to music)

Autorun.inf - Yes I read the topics

Submitted by xLostSoulx on February 28, 2008 - 6:31pm

I have read the other topics and I still can't get it to work, currently I have:

[Autorun]
UseAutoPlay=1
Open=.\AutoRun.exe
icon=StartPortableApps.exe
Label=Keith's Flash Drive
Action=Start PortableApps

It works, because it's renamed to Keith's Flash Drive, but it still doesn't load the application.

Got any ideas?

A Big Menu Enigma....

The problem I am facing defies logic:

My menu works perfectly on my Vista Laptop, but now all the buttons (video, Music, etc...) freeze when I press them on my XP Desktop!
It was still working fine a week ago, and no changes occurred in the meantime.

I tried reinstalling the menu, I even tried your patch for "below-xp" PCs.

I don't know what to do now, and what makes me annoyed is that I really can't understand the problem.
