Registry locker/firewall thing?

I don't even know if any apps of this category EXIST, but I know that it would be rather useful. What I've got in mind is something that tracks processes - particularly apps from the Portableapps folder - and acts like a firewall for the registry. That way, if someone finds an app that works without the registry but wants to use it anyway (Looking at you, scirra.com team!) you can use it anyway.

REQUEST: RedShift GUI

Submitted by wandersfar on August 2, 2013 - 2:54pm

I’d like to request RedShift GUI.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/redshiftgui/

The developer is Mao Yu aka Maoserr, but he doesn’t seem to be active anymore.

This is a program similar to F.lux—it changes the color temperature of your monitor based on time of day, to make nighttime use more comfortable.

Unlike F.lux, it can run without an install, semi-portably. The problem is it doesn’t store its settings in the same directory as the executable, but in AppData, requiring the user to manually copy over redshiftg.ini.

Portable VPN found.

Ok, not sure if this, the Portable apps dev, or general forum is the right place to post it. If I screwed up then sorry ^^;

Anyway, I found a VPN app called "Freegate" that doesn't require installation or special drivers.
All I can say it works like a charm, the IP adress of the computer I was using changed from "CYBERARLES france" to some electronic company in the US XD
Its main objective though is "anti-censorship", for China I believe. But it'll work for privacy also.
