Gramps genealogy software

Submitted by mfiscus on May 3, 2010 - 9:57pm

I'm very interested in genealogy and found this open source program called gramps-3.2.2-1 their web address is http://gramps-project.org/ I have tried to run this program on my thumb drive but it needs Python 2.5.4 or above,Gtk Version 2.12.9 or above, pygtk 2.12.1 or above, pyobject 2.12.3 or above and pycairo 1.2.6 or above installed on every computer I use which is not very convenient when using Public Library computers that don't let you install any thing.

Developer Studio Portable?

Many developers want this.

It should provide:
MSYS and MinGW (32 bit/64 bit).
Optional IDE (VIM/Emacs/CodeLite/Code::Blocks/wxDevCpp/Ultimate++...).
Source control tools (CVS/SVN/Git...).
Some useful extra libraries/SDKs/tools.
Easy to install, easy to use.
Easy to build, easy to debug.
Easy to package, easy to install.
Totally portable, totally free, totally open source.

It's an amazing project.

GreatNews is now Open Source

Hello,

GreatNews RSS portable stand alone reader from www.curiostudio.com is now
Open Source and sure would look good in my PortableApps Platform menu under
Firefox.

This program uses Internet Explorer somewhat but everybody has that in Windows.

How hard would it be to convert it to a PortableApps portable program and
install it in our menu with the other PortableApps Platform programs ?

Open Source for this became available this month.

THX.
