Open Yahtzee

Submitted by millarrp on September 25, 2007 - 1:29am

I was on sourceforge, and I came across an open source version of Yahtzee that looked interesting.

it's written in c++

From what I can see on their web site (and on sourceforge) , it looks like there was a portable edition made up for one of the older versions of Open Yahtzee, so it should be fairly portable as it is. But I think it would be nice to see a paf version of this too.

WinMail Opener

Submitted by foxcole on September 24, 2007 - 2:45pm

Does Winmail opener already qualify as a portable app? It can be found on this page:
http://www.eolsoft.com/download/

Winmail Opener is designed to open the notorious winmail.dat files from Outlook Express users, and it can save the text in rtf format. It also has a pane for attachments, if there were any in the message. The installer file is only 299KB.

file splitting program

Submitted by millarrp on September 22, 2007 - 9:17pm

I stumbled across a file splitting program that looked interesting and I thought I would throw it out here.

Program Name: Steve's File Splitter
Web Site: http://www.winsite.com/bin/Info?500000018198

According to the web site it's written in C++

In one spot on the web site, it states the license is freeware, but in the program description and in the license agreement when the program is installed it's listed as open source.

Is there a portable app like this?

Submitted by chobo2 on September 22, 2007 - 5:12pm

Hi

I am looking for a portable app that basically does the same sort of things as this program does. they have a portable app for it but they want money for it and I rather just try to get something free that is almost the same as the app.

They have a free lite version so maybe that could be made into a portable app since it is free.

I have this porgram to watch free internet tv on my usbstick, but there's no launcher for portableapps.com and installer.

If someone wants to build a propper installer+launcher, leave a post.

Ditto, clipboard extension & manager

Submitted by tmaibaum on September 22, 2007 - 9:03am

Hi,

I would like to add "Ditto", an open-source/freeware application that "saves each item placed on the clipboard allowing you access to any of those items at a later time" (from the website).
I've been using it for one or two years and don't know how I could have ever lived without it... Wink
There used to be a portable version that would only run from a U3 drive (:o), but now there's a regular portable version, too.

Website http://ditto-cp.sourceforge.net/

Hope you'll like it.

SVN Client (GUI)

Submitted by miksago on September 22, 2007 - 4:40am

Hi,
I'd like to know if there's going to be a SVN client with a GUI developed. I found a topic a little while back about SVN clients, but it didn't say if one was to be developed.
Any Responses would be of great help.

Cheers,
Miksago.

portable app converter

Submitted by betamaxman on September 22, 2007 - 1:39am

A way to convert simple applications that either run from an executable or from their folder has an executable to run from the portable apps start menu would be sweet.
For example I use a fav undelete app called 'restoration' that is a simple executable that can restore files. It would be great to convert this or other such apps to portable apps on the fly.
