Picaview (right click image preview!)

Submitted by achi10 on September 16, 2007 - 4:15pm

So I have this copy of Picaview that I've had for a while now and it is the greatest little tool ever! It lets you right click image files for a preview...sound simple, but if you're into image manipulation or download a lot of images, this program is a God-send.

Is there a way to put this on my portableapps?

It runs from the shell menu obviously, so I'm not sure if it needs to register DLLs or what the process is for getting this program to even work standalone.

Here's a copy of the software...

Portable Scilab

Submitted by oenayr on September 16, 2007 - 11:01am

Program: Scilab by INRIA

Liscence: Open source

Description: This is the freeware counterpart of Matlab by Mathworks. Most of the commands in Scilab are similar to those in Matlab, the only downside I've encountered so far is Scilab has lower stack memory. But what the heck, it's free! Its the thing we use in our Digital Signal Processing and Image Processing Courses, and it works fine. It would be great to have it in the portableapps.com format.

DVDShrink Launcher

Submitted by horrormaster34 on September 14, 2007 - 1:45pm

Would it be possible for somebody to create a DVDShrink portable launcher?

It writes a few files to the App Data folder and a bunch of registry entries for the settings to HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> DVD Shrink --> DVD Shrink 3.2 --> Preferences

Suggestion: Personal Video Database

I suggest to you add my video database application - Personal Video Database (current version 0.9.6) to your collection.

Some interesting features for portable apps users:
-Uses .ini file to save configuration
-Multi language (English, Dutch, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish are currently available)
-Unicode support
-Uses relative paths

More information about the program can be found here: http://www.videodb.info

Mahjongg solitaire

Submitted by ripcrd on September 13, 2007 - 2:22am

I'm looking for a solitaire mahjongg that could be put in portable format. On linux I play KMahjongg, a one-player matching sort of game. You match tiles and they disappear, revealing the tiles underneath. http://home.halden.net/vkp/vkp/windows.html has a list of many mahjongg games, free, OSS, abandonware, shareware, etc. Shanghai-Fû 3D 1.22 looks to be a good candidate since it is small at 339kb, and looks good, but it is freeware, not necessarily open source.
