this is getting a bit surreal.

Just check the Search before posting and you find this subject being discussed time and again without ever leading to anything even close to a solution nor any qualified explanation on what is so tough about it.

So here I try again: Thunderbird is at present absolutely unusable as a portable application, for security reasons. You can use it if and only if

- you are really happy about handing your personal information to everybody who gets anywhere near your USB-stick

- or if you are always admin. Then of course you are not portable anymore, you can only use the machines you own. You can then encrypt your profile with truecrypt or otfe. Not that you need encryption if you only work on your own PCs.

Portable ReactOS would be great, anyway...

I think it would be a good idea if we could download here a Portable Version of TrackMania Nations. I will try to make a portable app of TMN. But I need a server, where I could place it (~272 Mb).

Ne ways I found out from my friend that theres a portable Linux out there.

Anyways as i found out, this linux suxs. It runs too slow. Can anyone make something thats just like that except runs faster and it works better with other pcs?

I am starting to learn programing with java and wondering if someone could make a java compiler portable or point me towards one if it arleady exists

I'd like to see a portable version of eFax, or a t least an application that can read the proprietary *.efx file. Any suggestions? I tried installing to regaular PC and then copying files, but it didn't work for me...Needs to install files to registry.

I also found some apps that were readers for UNIX or other operating systems, but I couldn't get them to work in Win XP environment.

This is an app already made to be portable, http://www.uniformserver.com/ in my opinion is better than any portable Apache, PHP and MySQL setup i have tried. Hope it can be included
