LO Calc, How to delete certain rows in spreadsheet automatically

Submitted by cutie_pyie on August 10, 2013 - 3:03am

Hi all,

I am doing some taxes for some elderly people & I gave them a spreadsheet to use for charitable giving but now I need to edit it down and have a minor problem.

I need some kind/type of command that will automatically delete certain rows that do not have any items in them.
I know I could do this by hand but it certainly is labor intensive & I worry that I might delete a row through error that they need.
Is there a way to automate this process?

Columns A, B, & C are fixed items/values, Rows 7 & 8 of cols B thru H repeat later on down with different thing in A7.

very long start

Submitted by tapsklaps on August 2, 2013 - 3:24pm

I've often found that it takes a long time (about 2 minutes), until one of the programs is fully opened, for example, LibreOffice Portable Writer. Fortunately, this occurs only on the first start. After closing and reopening of the respective program it then opens faster. Is there a plausible explanation for this behaviour at the first run?

Hi guys,

Sorry if this was answered already, I couldn't find it.

I tried to download libreoffice several times for few days now, and I can't get anything. I tried both from within launcher and from the web, but no luck. Launcher is saying that downloaded copy is not valid, web page that there is malware on it.

Does anyone know something about this?

Thanks Smile

LibreOffice MD5 Checksum

Submitted by AllenLStarr on July 28, 2013 - 10:54am

I downloaded LibreOffice 4.1.0 standard. PortableApps website indicates the MD5 checksum should be: 06dc8a06c069dac81b0e2a9eae175532 with size= 116MB

I ran two MD5 checker apps against the file and both reported the MD5 checksum is: 75d5fa8c7e39a92412328ff127db5665, with size= 102148832 bytes

Even multiplying 102148832 * 1024 = 1.04600404E11 so the size doesn't match either.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hyperlinks in Calc (and Writer) not working

Submitted by PhilDan on July 8, 2013 - 4:48pm

Hi,

When I insert a hyperlink into a Calc (or Writer) document and then try and follow the link I get an error message in a dialog box: "Class not registered". That's it, no more info. (I think this is an OLE automation error.) I get the same error in Calc whether I use the menu option to insert a hyperlink, or use the =HYPERLINK() formula.

Googling hasn't come up with a fix, is anybody else experiencing the same?

Problems setting interface language to spanish

Submitted by erichsito on May 28, 2013 - 10:05am

Ever since the launch of LibreOffice Portable I have not been able to adjust the interface language so it would stick.
Only when I start LIbreOffice Portable as an administrator every time the language continues to e spanish. If I start it as a regular user it is english again.
I used to have this problem before with OpenOffice and it worked right only with version 3.2 which I continue to use for this reason.
I run Windows 7 home basic 64-bit sp1.

Your help will be appreciated for I want to switch to Libre Office.

Thank you,
Erich

Reducing the size of LibreOffice

Submitted by ws2r on April 30, 2013 - 10:39am

Just created a batch file for reducing the size and number of files of LibreOffice (basically it removes unnecessary locale files and some rarely used components).

The batch reduces the file size from 220 to 134mb and file number from 6888 to 2051.

It works for me on LO 3.6.5 and 4.0.2. Except for some files under \Data\settings\user\config, it does not alter any files under \Data.

Some relatively important files that the full version deletes:

- Some files under \Data\settings\user\config
- All launchers except LibreOfficePortable.exe

Problem installing portable version ... "cannot write ..." on one of the font files.

Submitted by softfoot on April 22, 2013 - 4:52pm

I've seen this several times when installing or updating - it always complains that it cannot write one of the font (.ttf) files.

I am using the standard directory structure for Portable Apps - so, given the standard .paf. installer I wouldnt expect a problem with path lengths.

There is miles of space on the USB drive (its 32Gb) and the drive is OK and passes a drive check.

If I copy the structure from another drive it copies OK (including the file in question) and runs OK.

BTW I love the package.
