I get this error when using portable gaim on my ME machine for every messenger account I use (AIM,MSN and Yahoo).
It works fine on my Xp machine.

Where would I place the libmeanwhile-0.dll and libmeanwhile-1.dll so the Gaim can see it as a protocol I can select when creating accounts.

I currently have a working USB app of Gaim working with the meanwhile plugin. I used the instructions at the bottom of the windows port @ the gaim sourceforge page, but I would like to get it working with the portable app offered here.

I copied the meanwhile libs into E:\\PortableGaim\gaim\ but it still does not show up.

Update: I was actually able to get it to look like Portable Gaim with the splash screen etc. and work with the meanwhile protocol.

Avatars won't work correctly. I often lose the ones i chose and neither show up in account' options. Is this a known issue ?

I used Portable Gaim 1.5beta1 for a while, and created a number of log files. I upgraded to 1.5beta2, but now those logs are inaccessable from within Gaim (yes, I saved/restored the .gaim directory; the log files are still there, they're just not being read by Gaim). Any idea what went wrong?

First of all, installing the Extended Preferences plugin is just a matter of moving a single dll into your .gaim/plugins folder, so I'm not having a problem installing it. In fact, in the previous version of PortableGaim (1.5beta1), it did work. After upgrading to 1.5beta2 (copying the entire .gaim directory elsewhere, extracting the new version over the old, copying the .gaim directory back), it stopped working, even though the dll is still in the right place. What happened?

I'm pretty new to this whole thing, and I think that the PortableApps thing is pretty cool. However, I don't understand the function of an FTP client. Can someone explain what this is and how it is useful on a flash drive? Thanks in advance

I just put PortableGaim Beta 2 on my USB Flash Drive and I cannot connect to MSN, Yahoo, or Google Talk. I can, however, connect to AIM and ICQ just find, oddly enough. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I'm going to be experimenting to see if I can find the problem. Thanks for any help.

Edit 2: It seems that it works on aanother computer, but I'm worried that it will stop working on the other PC I was using (don't have access to the other one at the moment). Any ideas why it didn't work on the other PC? Thanks.

I'm wondering if anyone has gotten the Gaim-Encryption Plugin for Gaim to work.

I have a lot of friends with whom when I chat with them their Gaim automatically tries to establish an encrypted session which is fine when I'm at work on the regular Gaim which is installed, but when I'm at school, my Portable Gaim doesn't support it. So they can't chat with me unless they right-click on my name and click "Turn Auto-Encryption Off". Otherwise it tries to authenticate over and over and I can't see anything they type.

I would really like to make Gaim-Encryption portable too!
