Google Chrome Portable Failing to Start

Submitted by dhartsoc on June 23, 2016 - 12:12pm

Everything is up to date with my Portable Apps USB drive. Today I noticed Google Chrome is not running when I click on it. The USB drive light flickers for two or three seconds and that is it. I reinstalled Google Chrome with no change in behavior.

Every other program I try opens without problem.

Ideas?

Thanks... Dana

Opera - password protection?

Submitted by deti on June 21, 2016 - 7:03am

Hi,

is there a way to protect Opera-Portable, to be opened only with an Password before the main window is shown?
If someone finds my USB Drive with PA and Opera on it, and I was logged in at some pages like ebay, facebook, ... and didn't log out, this person can access my accounts without problem Sad
Thanks.

PuTTY Portable / instance limit / session list only in first PuTTY window

Submitted by NiMhurchu on May 18, 2016 - 2:07am

Dear all,
I find myself using more and more linux hosts in my home network. I use PuTTY Portable to manage them. Which works great so far.
Only one instance can be started, so I use right click onto the title bar and "new" or "duplicate session" to open up multiple sessions.
One sometimes very annoying problem is that it seems that PuTTY Portable deletes the temporary registry settings when the first window closes, no matter, how many PuTTY windows are open.

PuTTY: KiTTY Portable odd behavior

Submitted by Peregrino on April 17, 2016 - 6:21pm

Hi all

I've been for some time now using KiTTY. I have saved sessions, and generally have multiple open simultaneously.

Lately KiTTY has started to behave strangely. Firstly, when I try to start a new session, I may get an error saying I already have one KiTTY running, please close before starting another. Secondly, randomly it seems to lose my saved sessions. When that happens the only way to get them back is to shut down all sessions.

Anyone seen similar problems?

Cheers

PuTTY: Update to 0.67

Submitted by hobbes1069 on March 24, 2016 - 9:27am

PuTTY was updated to 0.67 a couple of weeks ago and had some security updates. Last time it took less than a week before the updated portable version was available so I expected something similar this time...

These features are new in beta 0.67 (released 2016-03-05):
