Pidgin: Purple-Facebook plugin not loading

Submitted by CLons on November 11, 2015 - 9:56pm

Now that Facebook no longer supports XMPP, I was trying to see if I could get Pidgin to work with the new protocol.

There is a plugin that I found that seems promising: https://github.com/jgeboski/purple-facebook/wiki#basic-usage

I dropped libjson-glib-1.0.dll in PidginPortable\App\Pidgin and libfacebook.dll to PidginPortable\App\Pidgin\plugins.

But Pidgin Portable does not load the plugin. I wonder if anyone has had success with this plugin and the portable edition.

FileZilla Error message on start

Submitted by kermik on October 30, 2015 - 5:10am

After about version 3 I keep getting this error message when I start FileZilla Portable:
Error loading xml file
The file 'E:\PORTABLES\Portable Filezilla\Data\settings\queue.xml' could not be loaded.
Start-end tags mismatch at offset 87.
The queue could not be saved.

When I click OK, Filezilla starts normally and works like a dream - like it's always have done - so it's no big deal really.

When I rename the file queue.xml to queue.eksemmell, FileZilla Portable starts normally with no error message.

Any clues as to what this may be?

How does FileZilla Portable handle the 32/64-bit update in 3.10.3

Submitted by surreal on March 31, 2015 - 8:57pm

3.10.3-beta1 (2015-03-14)
New features:
FileZilla is now also available as 64bit Windows program. Users of 32bit FileZilla on 64bit Windows will get automatically migrated using the auto-updater

How does FileZillaPortable handle installation and update with this new feature added?

Since it is portable, does it just install and use 32-bit for the best compatibility between different systems?

Does it install 64-bit based on the initial install prep-system?
