The last couple of updates to Opera have wiped out my profile. Luckily, I had backups, but this has happened multiple times now.
Anyone else having this issue?
Hi,
I was a big fan of "server2go", but alas I think that it might now be defunct.
The reason why I liked it was that you could set it to automatically open up a web server's home page (i.e. the index.html page found within the server's www folder) when it started.
Most other portable servers seem to either take you to a control panel or else simply start and do nothing else. You need to click on a further button to launch the default home page in your browser.
Today I updated Pidgin Portable from 2.10.11 (libpurple 2.10.11) to 2.11.0. After that I get the following error while Pidgin starts up:
---------------------------
Error loading pidgin.dll.
Error: (999) Ошибка при выполнении операции со страницей.
---------------------------
The eror message means something like "An error at operating with a page". But I think the error is about memory access violation.
After this error the Pidgin process is closed.
OS: Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 x86
After this recent update Version 53.0.2785.143, Bookmarks are removed.
Edit: It would seem the "GoogleChromePortable\GoogleChromePortable.exe" opens in a different view to opening "GoogleChromePortable\App\Chrome-bin\chrome.exe" directly. My shortcuts I have created differ from opening within the PA app.
I'm trying to run an HTML page locally hosted (it's an Shiny R-script run through R-portable) but whenever I try to run it on a network computer that isn't my own, I just get a crashed page.
In fact, when I open Chrome Portable on any network computer, all it shows me is that "Aw shucks it stopped working" page.
Anyone know what the problem is?
I've had Chrome on this USB stick for a while. I used to use it, without a hint of issue, at my old job, on a W7 machine. At my new job, I have W10 and, at the beginning, it worked fine. Then over the past couple weeks it's gone from having to click it a couple times to open to this morning, where the cursor will "work" for about 15 seconds, then stop and act as if nothing happened and Chrome hasn't opened. Other portable apps open fine.
Hi,
Recently I've tried the x64 version of chrome.
In the posts I've read it is presented as very beta as Portable, but for mainstream chrome the x64 is said more stable.
To migrate, I have simply copied the data (profile, setup, .ini) from GoogleChromePortable to GoogleChromePortable64 and it seems enough.
Just join portableapps.com and i will like to say it the best way to run a windows PC.. so light and easy.
but am having trouble with my opera and Google Chome browser. internet is not connecting and i cant even access setting or anything. once open.. it
just blank page...
anyone out there with a fix....?
Thanks
Good afternoon. I would like to use a portable Google Chrome. But there is one problem: when opening links from external programs opens a new window, not tab. Also no external links in the browser history. Links to external programs use a different browser profile. How to make one single profile for everything, and that open new Windows and tabs? Thank you.
